We've heard a lot about inflation this year, with rates not seen since the 1970s.

For those of us who earn in euros, pound sterling or (in my case) Japanese yen, there is a double hit as those currencies have declined against the resurgent dollar...

However, there is plenty of good news about the effects of inflation for Wealthy Affiliate members who take the Premium upgrade... Let's dive in and see what it is!

Good News For Wealthy Affiliate Members!

When you upgrade your Wealthy Affiliate account to Premium or Premium Plus your subscription is "locked in," which effectively means the dollar value of your subscription - already great value - gets cheaper year by year.

And even better news for anybody thinking about upgrading to Premium or Premium Plus: Black Friday is almost upon us and you will be able to grab a on the annual subscription rate.

NOTE: This will be the last chance to get a Premium upgrade for the SAME PRICE as I paid ($299) during the Black Friday campaign of 2015!

Yes, I joined Wealthy Affiliate in October 2015, took the Premium upgrade within days of joining, and then jumped for the $299 annual subscription during the Black Friday campaign.

Every year since then I have happily renewed my "82 cents a day" subscription - and fully intend to renew it again this year. :)

Annual US Inflation Rates

I just checked US inflation rates for the years 2015-2022. How does it compare against a "Wealthy Affiliate Inflation Rate" of 0% over that period?

2015 = 0.7%
2016 = 2.1%
2017= 2.1%
2018 = 1.9%
2019 = 2.3%
2020 = 1.4%
2021 = 7.0%
2022 = 8.2%

TOTAL = 25.7%

What If You Are Paying With Euros, Pounds, or Yen?

I pay for my subscription with a credit card, either my Japanese or UK one, I forget. Either way, there will be a foreign currency exchange and so I will lose out compared to this time last year as both the yen and the pound have fallen against the dollar.

What is the solution? Promote WA!

Well, now that the dollar is doing well against those currencies, it would be a great time to work harder to PROMOTE Wealthy Affiliate and boost affiliate commissions to take advantage of the strength of the dollar.

When Paypal sends those commissions to my Japanese bank account, I will do BETTER this year than in previous years on the currency exchange.

Back in November 2015, $1 was worth around ¥120. Today $1 is worth about $146 so the value of the dollar has gone up by about 20% against the yen over that period.

(Also, inflation remains much lower in Japan although it has crept up to 3% this year, but the decline of the yen against the dollar means the dollar has appreciated faster than inflation in Japan.)

Static Price, Value Inflation

Another consideration is the steady increase in the value proposition that Wealthy Affiliate has been delivering over the years.

I especially value WA for the SiteRubix managed Wordpress hosting service and the speed and efficiency of the support on the few occasions that I have needed it.

Since 2015, we have seen various technical upgrades to the hosting service; development and integration of Jaaxy keyword research; article writing support, complete with a massive photo library; greatly improved and expanded training modules; much more high-level training from the members; improvements to the social/community side of the site, and much more too, I am sure.

In short, times may be difficult, but you can lock in a Premium or Premium Plus upgrade at a fixed price and expect to see a similar increase in value and decrease in actual cost over the years to come, and will have at your fingertips all the resources you need to succeed with your ambitions for your online business.
