I Have To Be More Organised!
Well. I've only been here at WA for 3 wks but it seems like forever....in a good way of course :) I have already connected with some amazing people, had some great training and brill support from my fellow members.
I also LOVE reading other members posts and helping and giving support where I can......therein lies my challenge. Because of my love of reading blogs, profiles and commenting, I'm not getting any work done !!
I am so happy and grateful that I don't have a regular job and so have heaps of time every day to work on my business. I go to bed at 10pm, get up at 5am ( I have my hubbys routine. He has an early start every day for his work)
The first part of my day is SO organized. I drink a pint of water then take my boys ( 2 dogs) for about a 45 min walk. Come back. Do an hour of yoga and meditation, have a smoothie, shower, then I'm ready to work.
It's the rest of my day that's a bit haywire. I read some WA notifications, add some comments, then work on my site. I then get distracted by further notifications. That leads to reading some profiles, then back to doing a BIT of work...and so it goes on. I've also started to create a photography site for my hubby but that's at the " theme only, plus one page" stage. I really should work more on my site before starting anything else lol :) Oh yes and I have to fit in my daily dose of inspiration from various sources on the Internet.
On the plus side, I NEVER put the TV on during the day.....in fact I watch very little TV at all to be honest. My beloved Corry and Emmerdale are distant memories haha. I never let the call from a friend distract me. I always keep it brief if I'm in the middle of something and perhaps re-arrange the call.
At least my distractions are positive ones. However, today I realised I hadn't done anything constructive on my site for 6 DAYS (OMG ! ) I have to get this organisation thing sorted out. The more successful I am, the more people I can help.
I've decided to create a timetable for my working day. It might sound a bit regimented but I really think I need it !!
The pic is of one of my boys ,Sonny. This is what I quite often see whilst I'm working :) The offer of a carrot usually distracts HIM lol...

That's me, trying to create a time management schedule that I can stick too, and not let so many things distract me. I also check my email all the time, read posts, and get on Facebook much too often. Too much to do in so little time - Oh well....One day I'll get it together.
Sorry I have only just seen your comment. I've been offline for a few weeks! We'll get there :)
You are not alone :) The good thing about being here is that you can create your own timetable :)
I feel your pain. I know it's important to have a schedule and stick to it. Therein lies my problem.
A little bit of regimentation never hurt anybody. I say that but I am the most undisciplined guy here in WA and my site content or lack of shows it. Ha-ha.
Cheers Larry!....Glad I'm not alone here lol. I will be giving an update on whether or not I've been able to stick to my "timetable" soon :)
Hi Michael
Motivation certainly is fickle haha. Felt wildly excited about WA since I started, I just need to focus on one thing at a time.
Thanks very much for your encouragement :)
Motivation is a fickle creature ;-)
Staying the course and staying consistent, in my opinion, is far more important than the motivation itself. Motivation can and will come and go at times. It's when you reach the low points, when you just don't want to do something, that's when you really need to gather yourself and do it.
Setting up that timetable is a great way to keep at the tasks at hand. It will keep yourself accountable, even when your motivation is low, and help keep you moving on a consistent basis towards your goals
:-)
