Should I Be Eating Organic?

Pesticides are chemicals typically sprayed on growing plants and food in order to stop insects from devouring what we later find on our supermarket shelves. Great! Ah, well, not really. You see pesticides don't just kill pests. Even if you wash your produce well, there are still some elements of the pesticides that get through the cleaning process. You don't have to Google very deeply to find what damage these residual chemicals can do, either. Neurological damage, memory loss, loss of coordination, impaired vision, uncontrolled mood and general behavior and reduced motor skills are just a few of the headliners.
It may not happen all at once. These things occur over time and once they manifest, you can be sure that unless we do something about it quickly and profoundly, it's only going to get worse. Other possible health effects include asthma, allergies, and hypersensitivity, and pesticide exposure is also linked with cancer, hormone disruption, and problems with reproduction and fetal development. Kids and pregnant women are especially susceptible, so really the only answer is to go organic. And if it doesn't say "organic" on the label, you can bet that what you're eating is NOT.
From pesticidal produce to hormonally treated chicken, meat and dairy, if you don't pay attention to what you eat, it will catch up with you one day, and we don't want that.
