Setting Your Sites on Site Maps
THE ADVANTAGE OF A SITE MAP.
Websites that are properly designed allow traffic to search and navigate around the entire website using no sitemap. However, adding a site map gives users yet another method of locating pages within a site. So, pages that are listed in a site map are, in turn, linked to the proper page, allowing visitors to swiftly go to any page of a site that is listed in the site map.
Setting up a site map for your website is fairly easy to do. Simply go to Google Search Console (the former Google Webmaster Tools) and set up a listing for your website. It is here that you will manage all your site's search methods and ways to allow Google to crawl your website.
This will help index your site, optimizing visibility (SEO) and getting it noticed on the web. It will also assist in increasing traffic, by improving the overall indexing and ranking of your site. Here are some helpful links to guide you in the process:

This is a good way to set up the site map. After the site is built, the site map is created and submitted to the Google search engine, which is beneficial to the website optimization. It is beneficial to the Internet users to search your website and web page, and improve the exposure rate.
I got this email from Google today:
"Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 new Index coverage related issue. This means that Index coverage may be negatively affected in Google Search results. We encourage you to fix this issue.
New issue found:
Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’"
The pages marked noindex are deliberate, i.e. privacy policy and T&Cs;...any idea how to resolve this?
Yes, AIO SEO also now includes a 'exclude from sitemap' option for your 'noindex' pages - turn that on and the error should resolved itself. I got these emails today myself.
Found it...so you basically enter the post ID into the exclude posts box in XML-sitemap right?
I guess - I've only excluded pages, no posts, so I haven't worked through that issue yet.
No, I went into the pages I had excluded by clicking on 'edit' and then scrolling down and checking the 'exclude from sitemap' box in AIO SEO (which is how I generate my sitemaps). If you don't use AIO to generate your sitemaps, I'm not sure how you'd go about doing it.
Awesome post, loads of useful info, I am still stuck on defing my niche so will bookmark this for essential future reading.
Well I am looking at a music site but it is so broad , I just can't hit on one thing to focus on
I am having a problem with deciding a niche for my first site so no hope of doing several at the moment
Hi Ifeoma and happy to connect! Depending how long after the 7 days it has been, you can message Carson or Kyle and inform them that you want to upgrade. Sometimes Kyle will extend it 7 more days. It's worth a shot! Do it immediately, though. You may also respond to Kyle's message on your wall. That's a great way to get his attention!
Erin :)!
I had forgotten until last week that I had never set up a sitemap for my newer website this year. I really need to do that! I just got so busy I totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder again...

Just a helpful hint to enhance the overall visibility of your site! All the best to you, Nitesh!
