Do Your Words Envélop Trust?

Last Update: January 10, 2019

TRUST IS A KEY COMPONENT IN LIFE.

From the moment we are born, trust is a main part of our existence. Depending on another to direct and lead us is the cornerstone to life. In this form, trust and dependence go hand-in-hand. It's human nature!

ENVÉLOPING trust, (accent on the second syllable), surrounds us with confidence. ENVÉLOP means to surround, cover, enwrap, blanket, enfold, swathe or swaddle, as a mother or father does with a child, blanketing him or her with love and deep devotion.

PLEASE NOTE ALL THE HIGHLIGHTED AND ITALLICED WORDS, AS THEY ALL MIMMICK TRUST.

IN A RELATIONSHIP ASPECT.

Trust also carries us through life in our relationships. It is a guiding light that secures us and surrounds us with a firm belief in reliability. It embeds solidity through strength and faith. Relations are built on trust, giving us confidence and freedom from suspicion and doubt.

In marriage, we develop a sacred bond through commitment and promises which covenants truth and integrity-- a safe haven for trust.

OUR PETS LIVE BY TRUST AND LOVE.

Giving your pet love and care projects trust that, in turn, exemplifies unconditional love.

IN THE BUSINESS ASPECT.

Portraying trust in business also establishes a grounded sense of stability. Trusting a business partner, colleague, or even a brand notes great ethical values. Work is built around trustworthy individuals who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. These men and women who acquire purpose in determining how their life will play out, all centers around trust.

SUCCESS IN MARKETING.

To be a successful marketer, in person or online, one HAS to have trust. It is the key factor in developing a concrete relationship with your buyers. You have to relay a certain form of trust. If they don't trust you, they won't buy from you!

With that said, I could re-frame that statement into a simple marketing question---How do you make your users trust you?

Essentially, speaking of your online community of viewers, you can do this by the way you write. How you word things in your blog posts, Reviews, How tos and articles is crucial to how your reader ingests what is written. Using keywords and phrases that suggest trust is the defining way to actually GET that trust, and keep them inspired enough to come back!

WHY ARE WORDS SO IMPORTANT?

Creating trust with your words molds your business into one of high-quality substance! They put out to the world so many thoughts, ideas, circumstances and solutions that people are looking for, so you will want to use words that draw in your reader!

HERE IS A LIST OF WORDS I'VE RESEARCHED AND HAVE COME UP WITH TO "HELP" YOU OUT.

In determining the following words, there is one thing to take into consideration: Phonology.

PHONOLOGY is the very sound of words, having a deep effect on their usage, understanding and trustworthiness. This process affects how we process them and the profound impact they have when we read them.

There are so many descriptive words in the human language that we can use for description’s sake. Take, for instance, the word: slither. The "phonology" of this word has a sinister sound when pronounced, thinking of creepiness and having a strong feeling of uneasiness.

To turn it around, words in a different light have positive meanings, which are the words we are to use. Words like authentic and genuine. Denotative meanings of words classify trust. These are words that "inspire," trust.

Here is my list:

  • Authenticity--Visitors love and crave something that is "real!"
  • Accuracy--In life, we are somewhat led to be skeptical, especially information on the internet. This word deepens trust and can be very compelling to the reader.
  • Authority--Standing on respect, value and admiration, this word relays a feeling of knowledge and trust that comes from leadership.
  • Ask and Answer--These words strengthen one's feeling of trust when knowing that assistance is provided.
  • Backed--When something is "backed," it relates to belief in a product or service. It sets the standards high.
  • Build--This word and the word "trust," itself, go together, and brings to mind, the thought of relationship and good work ethics.
  • Certified--No matter what is certified or where the certificate originated, we know that the product or service surrounds itself with trust and a stamp of approval.
  • Endorsed--This is a reassuring word of high standards.
  • Dependable--This is a word possessing phonology with a sense of being deep, pensive and able.
  • Cancel Anytime--This phrase gives the buyer a "safety net," providing flexibility.

Other words to use:

Best-Selling, Data, Earned, Factual, Faithful, Guaranteed, Give, Help, Honest, Lifetime, Loyal, Money Back, Ironclad, Identify, No Obligation, No Risk, No Questions Asked, No Strings Attached, Official, Privacy, Protected, Proof, Proven, Relate, Refund, Results, Research, Scientific, Satisfaction, Secure, Entrust, True, Unconditional, Understand, Verify, Value, Warranty, You.

REMEMBER, CONTENT IS KING!

This cliche is the most important feature that creates trust with our users! You need to create content that inspires TRUST.

LANGUAGE IS A DRIVING FORCE!

We, as humans, are all driven by language and it is rooted in our brains. We operate around our language. So, put out there what you want to gain---self trust, buyer trust and trustworthy business ethics!

SO, WHY THEN, IS TRUST SO IMPORTANT?

I'll answer that with one simple statement:

THE ONLY PERSON WHO WILL CONVERT IS A PERSON WHO WILL TRUST.

MORE REASONS TO TRUST, IN CLOSING.

An entire purchase in the e-commerce industry depends upon TRUST in order to run a successful business, and each sale indicates that TRUST has been won!

TRUST increases motivation, reduces friction and minimizes anxiety!

THANKFULLY, WHAT WE DO AND WRITE IN LIFE SIGNIFIES TRUST.

As writers and business entrepreneurs, the more skilled we get at creating and shaping trust within our content, the better marketers we become!

Relaying the proper words in different circumstances signifies the outcome!

REMEMBER THAT EVERYTHING IN LIFE HINGES ON TRUST.

Hi Erin, awesome post as usual, you make learning from you easy. I am finding out through my writing here and on my website that you are absolutely correct on this.

None of us can be successful unless our readers/visitors trust what we pass on to them. If they don't trust us, they don't come back to our sites. We don't keep traffic.

Therefore no conversion.

Thank you for this reminder and the list of words you gave us will be very helpful with the content we write on our sites.

I wish you the best!
