Being An Illustrious Person
ILLUSTRIOUS:
I feel this word was made to describe someone who is admired for their achievements, well-known among people, respected for mannerisms of integrity, distinguished in life, notable for brilliance, legendary for accomplishments, celebrated for the joy and learning they bring to others, esteemed with strong confidence and stellar in the way they make a real difference.
This special and fun word to say most definitely mirrors the image of so many here in our humble community---people whose countenance is derived from moral standards.
The word originated in the mid 16th Century from the Latin word illustris which means clear and bright---shining brightly with light.
It is a word that we as human beings should strive for in our family, in our relationships, in our marriage, in our friendships and when confronting those in need. It takes an earnest seeker---someone who mindfully focuses on the good in everything and see the possibilities everywhere---Being a good influence on children and adults by leading with their heart and caring.
...Someone who puts others first and tries to pay it forward when they can--- never complaining. An illustrious person shows a healthy spirit at all times; during trials or throughout times of peace and contentment.
Stepping up to the person you are or want to become is a commendable act that everyone should strive for. This is the kind of person we were created to be.
Reach out and lend a helping hand.
I get it that life the way we know it in the present can allow us to get caught up in the chaos of timely efforts. However, as the Christmas season approaches, may we rise up to be all we can be---stewards of our fellow man.
An illustrious person is one who loves without ceasing.

Hello Erin,
Thank you for another inspiring blog post! Illustrious is not a word that I normally use, but I like the sound of being more illustrious! I think most of us want to make a difference to those around us, I know I certainly do!
Thank you for a slightly different blog post Erin!
Enjoy your day.

Thank you Erin. My wife is from Greece and her English is actually very good, but sometimes she will ask me what a particular word means, I know the word, but really struggle to explain when asked! There are other words that she asks me and I don't actually know what this the word means! So she's probably helping my English by asking me questions!
Enjoy your day Erin.

A beautiful read of inspiration to stir the ambers within and re-ignite the light within and be illustrious. A gift that we all were freely given and keeps on giving if we do not allow our own self worth to be snuffed out by others or circumstance.
Stay illustrious always!
Suzanne
