Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie
..who's not ready, holler, "I!" I loved that game when I was a kid! I would always holler, "I," as would everyone else! All the neighborhood children got together on a Friday or Saturday night and when it got dark, we played games by the light of the streetlamps and porches. Hide and Go Seek was always a favorite. (This is such an appropriate time to write this, with my ___th birthday rapidly approaching on Monday the 20th)
The fact is, that we were never really ready. We'd still be trying to find a good hiding place when the person who was "It" finished counting. I have grown up my whole life hiding behind challenges and seeking to find answers to life's questions. As a kid, it was never an issue. When we got caught, there'd always be another game or another opportunity to stay safe. We shook off fear and failure.
Now, years and years down the road, it's the same game, only it's a different type of accomplishment, because I'm much older now. It is to beat the odds of defeat, come out from hiding and get out in front. I think by stepping out from behind the tree or bushes and into the light, we can brush ourselves off and begin again, letting the excitement build all over, once more.
Here, we have an opportunity to do that. We can take our gifts and put them into a productive business that will excel our future and give us hope, determination and direction. I believe that everything that has happened in our life and all that we've accomplished has all been for a reason..to bring us to this present moment..right here..right now, and in this business. We can use our experiences to produce fruit.
I love writing and designing web sites. That's what I do. I'm an author and web designer. Those two occupations fit like a glove to this business. I implement my two professions into one place, making me now have 3 lucrative businesses that intertwine into one. The fact is that my businesses will grow and advance into multiple places of interest and even more potential professions! We all can do this, whatever your vocation is!
Sit down and think deep within yourself
What do you like to do? What are you currently doing? What are your points of interest? What do you do in your spare time? Do you have pets? What is your occupation? What were things you liked to do when you were a child? What are your favorite movies, books, foods, recipes, etc., etc., etc!
All these things relating to your life can be grouped together and formed into several different niche businesses within the Wealthy Affiliate platform!
Businesses to Manage / Related Web Sites
Here, I can take all the things in my life that have made me who I am and put them into a "book" of memories. All my treasured ideas and dreams can now be released together in a collaboration of businesses!
My sites can be related to what I do and like: author/books, web center/web design, Wealthy Affiliate, cats, cooking/recipes/food, kids, ministering, health, fun, and endless other possibilities!
This is where we gather pieces of our childhood!! This is where we pick up the pieces of our most challenged efforts!! This is where we expand our knowledge to new heights!! This is where we succeed within ourselves, drawing out an incredibly successful future!!
Don't hide behind uncertainty. Now is the time to come out and seek your future!!

Loved your post, herinnelson. Very inspirational. Also reminiscent of my childhood, a gentler, safer time when it was safe for us to play outside until the streetlights came on. Our game was "Starlight, Moonlight, Hope to See the Ghost Tongiht". I think we devised it as an adaptation of hide and go seek. Thanks for sharing. When I have time, I plan to read the rest of your posts. but for now, I gotta get back to Course 1, Lesson 9.
You're so sweet, Carol. I love hearing about your childhood experiences! Your game sounds like another game we played. We didn't really name it, but it was spooky and we just referred to it as The Spooky Game. I can't even believe we played it! (I think I still have dreams about it! Haha!) We played in almost total darkness. At my friend's house, there were 3 paths going down a hill with small trees and bushes between each path. A bunch of us would take turns choosing a path and walking down it slowly. Others would take turns and choose a path and hide. If we picked the path they were hiding in, they'd jump out and scare us! Crazy, huh? But it was fun.
Glad to connect so we can help each other out on our journeys here! See you around!
The moment I saw "we succeed within ourselves" it triggered the poem: "The Man In The Glass" by Peter Dale Wimbrow Sr. in me. Not many people know that this poem was given to the Springbok Rugby team before the game, when they beat the All Blacks in the World Cup in 1995.
So glad my post brought back a memory. I absolutely LOVE the poem! It is so true to life. Thanks so much for sharing it here!
I sensed you are a strong person. I hope you continue to find life's meaning in the online endeavor.

Hi Erin,
It’s me again. Just read your second story. I like the voice in your stories. I am sure by reading your stories I can learn how to project myself in such a voice some day.
Keep up the great work!
What a nice reply, Khalfan! Thanks! You speak just fine!
Erin :)!
