Jump Pages Anchor Text
I just recently began adding jump page anchor text and html coding to all my 1,000 word plus review blog post.
I'm sure glad I did because this simple little tweak and line of html code is helping my bounce rate to reduce by my blog visitors.
Doing my research concerning my own blog I've found that as my bounce rate reduces I'm being rewarded by the search engines and getting better rankings.
For those whose may not know what this is.
It's a line of HTML code that allows readers on your blog post to jump right to a specific section of the post without having to scroll down to it.
Should You Use Jump Page Anchor Text?
Well the question above my or my not be fitting for you depending on what type of post you create.
I found that readers want infomation and they want it fast. 1 out of every 10 readers may read your entire 1,000 plus post.
So by adding the jump page html to my 1,000 plus post the reader stays on my blog longer because thay can jump right to the section of the post without scrolling which takes time.
Does Using Jump Page Anchor Text Reduce Bounce Rates?
I cannot say because I have not fully focus on conpiling data.
However I have noticed a reduction in my blogs bounce rates since applying the strategy.
By having a bullet point subheading about what I'm going to be talking about and then linking each bullet point with a jump page anchor text...
Has helped my readers a whole lot.
I will be utilizing this technique with all my reviews.
My ultimate goal is to see if the search engines will continue to reward my blog post by doing so.
Conclsion

I'm not sure on the bounce rate reduction as I've not looked into it but I agree people should use the jump links. Many use it as a table of contents on larger posts. I actually wrote a how-to on it that you can find here: Creating Links to a Specific Spot in a Post or Page (Commonly Used to Create a Table of Contents)
Interesting point! Never thought of this before. Thanks for sharing.
