Blogging is like sharing a diary or journal with the world.

How many of us have been through the journey of writing a diary or journal as a method of identifying our experiences and clarifying our personal journey? That is a process highly recommended by health therapists everywhere and has some value. Often, for authors, it initiates a book and gives rise to the development of characters (which are all somehow part of our own psyche being put on stage).

I saw a journal entry yesterday about an author who was discussing whether females should write about men’s issues or stick to feminine themes. As the article continued I discovered that she was building strong female characters to contrast with weak male ones. This horrified me somewhat, as I perceived that she was not too subtly promoting a sexist agenda which could be a destructive move within society and I understand this is only one of thousands.

To me she was presenting a picture of herself as a perpetrator of an anti-male system which is not too well hidden in our current culture. She would not agree with my summary I don’t suppose. But the fact is that her literature is affecting the mentality of thousands of her readers in a deconstructive way.

The Christian ethic teaches us to encourage and build up one another – both sexes - and I believe that is clearly the ethic of Wealthy Affiliates. It is wonderful to see that ethic in considered and determined operation on these pages. I have not come across any negative comments. I have come across and been most grateful for constructive criticism, which is another matter entirely. But I so appreciate the principles that are being implemented constantly in this community.

Back to blogging.

Several members have written of the value of blogging for public discussion within this community. On that note I’d like to appreciate the value of the ethic here in terms of mental health. There is a freedom of expression without fear because everything that comes back is written in encouraging terms. This freedom includes permission to ask for assistance when needed without fear of reprisal.

More than that there is a determined instruction that every member should learn the art of encouragement to others. As the stone dropped in water has a ripple effect, so the stone of encouragement has an amazing ripple effect within this community. Not only is encouragement of great psychological value, but the even greater value is the insistence of Wealthy Affiliates that we reach out to others. Our thinking is not to be boxed up in our own benefits, but it is to be concentrated on the benefit of our friends and colleagues. Can you imagine where the ripple effect of this takes us?

From obsession with our own progress we are to extend our interests to the welfare of all the other members. We are to take some responsibility for their welfare also. Imagine how that expands our horizons. Imagine the extension of our mental boundaries that is happening here. Imagine how our personal psyche is stretching its tentpegs as they say in the Bible. From my personal world to a world that includes hundreds, and all their personal worlds as well.

For me it is not a world of cups half empty, or half full, but a world of cups running over, bubbling and brimming with delight and joy. (Psalm 23). It represents the exponential nature of expanding universes and human potential. It is the world of good seed planted into fertile soil (of growing psyches) and enormous blessing to each of us who participate fully in this culture that is purposefully set in place here.

And that is only the beginning.

We are being taught to extend that culture of deliberate personal generosity out there into a world of need. This is to be the essence of our blog writing. The ripple effects have no boundaries, no ultimate horizons. They are changing us and they are affecting our contacts and perhaps even their contacts.

Yes it’s business, but it’s also life.

I cannot express the gratitude I have to be here, working in this deeply ethical business culture for the benefit of everyone concerned. The finances follow us when we correctly apply the principles taught. They are actually a secondary blessing, and I understand that much of the financial reward will also go to benefit many charities and situations that members support. The outreach of this company is rippling further and further continuously.

I cannot help but wonder how far this generosity will reach. As more and more people learn that they can develop their own financial plans and become independent of workplace constraints, and continue the consequent benefits to society, more free to live abundantly, generously and without limitation, free to give and contribute openly and handsomely, this world can become a much better place. I’m thinking of release from various forms of slavery, poverty, and more because of financial strength of generous people.

Back to blogging: The pen is mightier than the sword – for better or for worse. Perhaps I should rephrase that. The keyboard (including keywords) is mightier than the militarised forces. We actually have a weapon at our fingertips.

We will not know all that is being achieved, but we can know that we are part of something that operates in a potentially miraculously exponential sphere, and we can all the more work together to be a blessing within and beyond our nations.
