Squidon't!
I have had an enjoyable 30 minutes deleting all my Squidoo lenses. I know I could have deleted my whole account with one click, but I wanted to enjoy demolishing them one by one. Goodbye slimy squid, that's one more thing I won't have to waste time on.
Now time to move on with WA and spend time interacting with those people who ARE genuine and want to help us succeed.

Thank you Caylynn. I feel very liberated from doing that. I don't know if you've heard of Erica Stone? She's a giant Squid from way back and has hundreds of lenses and has sold a few WSOs on how to build Squidoo lenses. They have just flagged all her lenses for "thin content". I have seen some of them and they are certainly not thin content. So what hope is there for mere mortals?
Sounds like downsquiding to me for the giant squid. There is something going on. If enough of you leave, they save money? Or is google just being like a big business wolf overcharging the site until they fix what is wrong?

The thing about Squidoo (or any other Article directory) is that you do not control the content. Squidoo has been making changes, banning lenses, shutting them down, telling people they need to delete links etc. This is all to try and protect their rankings which are dropping like flies. The problem with squidoo is they never put emphasis on controlling the content and moderating it in a way that makes it 100% helpful. So, now they are trying to do it after the fact and it's hurting their business and causing folks like yourself (Wendy), to move on.
An article directory is good for one thing these days. They can help you get found for the first time by the Search Engines. That's it! Traffic from article directories is continually going down, and it does not make sense to put all of your awesome content on a website that you do not own.
You would be much better off having the content on your website where you will rank just as well. As soon as Google started ranking websites just as well as Article Directories, it was time to switch from writing articles to publishing on your website.
I'm glad that you've done this and are now going to focus on your website and building your Foundation!!!

They told me to remove some "suspect" links (to Amazon) and when I removed them it would not let me republish the lens. That's when I knew they were not worth any more of my time and energy.

i'm so glad that i found (again) ex-squidoers lol...i bought erica stones' squid pro quo and i loved it but then i realised that squidoo is no more the same as it was 2 years ago. i'm just starting to build lenses, get published and then unpublished by squidoo. as i've seen many long-time squidoers got unpublished and deleted their account plus the giants squid who also sold or moved and even deleted their account. one thing in common, i think, they did that because of the stricter rule of squidoo)thin content,quality content and so on). giant squids like erica stone and many others have original quality squidoo and professionally written content but they also suffer from squidoo's new term.
i decided to start somewhere else and forget all the squidoo things...
