What Is The Best Ways To Set Goals? The No Fail 3 Question Method
I have been on quiet a journey the last few months thanks to WA. Somehow I have went to learning Affiliate Marketing to personal growth and then to applying my personal growth to my learning. Through this, I questioned the whole goal setting strategy that we naturally use and that often causes so many people to fail at their goal setting. So, First I will explain why it doesn't work and then I will give you the 3 Question Goal setting Strategy.
What Is The Best Ways To Set Goals? Hint! It Is Not The Way We Were Taught.
I say this to say that my basic comprehension on learning both has been astonishing, I think if we were all honest with ourselves then we will have to accept that to geniounly help others we have to be in a state of being able to. This lead me to persuing personal growth.
All of our lives we are told these things, And family is one influence because with good intentions, naturally our family wants what is best for us. But is it really best for us, or is it actually what society and culture idea of what is best for us.
3 Question No Fail Goal Setting Strategy
I have found that these three questions can change everything. Before I list the 3 questions though, Let me explain. We are naturally told to set goals which is a great thing. However, when we think of setting goals, we are naturally brought back to the way society and culture has set up our thoughts.
Through life, we are told that if we want things, then we need to go to college, get a degree in law, medical, etc. That is classified to culture as having a good job with good pay that will provide a comfortable lifestyle. To an extent, some could argue with me and say that yes it is and can lead to a comfortable lifestyle, but really what is a comfortable lifestyle? Is that also what society has said that confortable is? Sure to some! The ones who are passionate about law or health. But what about the ones who have a higher passion for building their own version of comfortable? For ex, for me, comfortable living means a comfortable mental state also. If you are unhappy with what you are doing as your job or career then you can not be living comfortable.
This also explains why goal setting is so hard for some or why they can't succeed at accomplishing goals. Let me throw a great exa,ple to help explain what I am meaning.
If you were to ask someone what one of their goals are, they would say:
"My goal is to (insert goal), So that i can (insert end result)".
The world "SO" is the give away word. They are setting a irrelevant goal based on what society has told us that will get the END result that we are really going for. This actually is why so many people end up depressed within their career. It is not really what they wanted. They have been taught that that is the way to get to the end result that we actually want.
In simple and short understanding, Long term, the goal that we are setting is not what we are really wanting, it is what society has taught us that 'Leads" us to the result that we want. We want the end result.
So Ask Yourself 3 questions.
1. What Experiences do I want in life?
Often times the experiences that we want in life don't cost much money. We just attach money to everything.
Common experiences that we all want are usually the same from person to person. Because we are naturally caring beings and have a need for love and happiness. To help you with an explanation, a few of natural experiences, the end goals (experiences) that we all want in life are love and happiness.
- Who do you want the experiece of waking up to everyday?
- the experince of having a comfortable sized home or parking in a 2 car garage
- the experience of a Visit the grand canyon or another country
- to experience The thing in the store that cost to much
These are really what we want, but we live in a world where we attach money to everything we do and it has everyone chasing money!!! We don't want money, We want what the money buys, so why are all still taught this way? Its called culture. But we have to start teaching our younger generations the difference or we can't change the outcomes.
2. How do I want to grow?
For me to get or have these experiences, How do I want to grow?
As we have a natural need for love and happiness, we are also growth driven beings. We are born to grow within ourselves. Ask your self questions related to these examples below.
How Can I Grow To Experience:
- how can I get that comfortable home that I want,
- being a better father, mother, spouse, etc.,
- getting to visit another country.
- how can I grow to let my voice impact the world
3. How Can I Give Back?
For me to Grow with happiness to get the experiences that I want, How can I give back. What Can I do to get to the growth?
- In order for us to be happy and fulfilled, we must help others.
- Have a knowledge of something? mentor a child who is wanting knowledge of it
- Can you sing? Use it to spread your voice
- Are you good with explaining things? Become a Speaker
- What are special abilities that you have that you could use to give back to the world?
In order for us to be happy and fulfilled, we must help others.
