Transitioning
Hi folks!
I just made the leap to a field position (still don't work for myself yet :( ) and I'm hoping I have the ability to manage my time a little better now that I can schedule my week more on my terms. The difficulty for me is balancing family life with a wife and 16 month old daughter, with full time work that pays the bills. It's really hard to focus on Internet Marketing when I hardly have any free time to speak of, but I'm hopeful!
How do you find yourself managing your day? I know a lot of us have kids and a day job. What's your sweet spot? I will try to spend an hour or two early in the morning before dropping the baby off to daycare. Hopefully I can make a schedule stick!
Hope all is well with you guys,
Chris

Hi Chris. I've used a Weekly Plan Sheet in the past and it helps. I make a Monday-Friday sheet and write in everything I have/want to do - it makes it easier to see your whole week as a "big picture" and you can see where you're spending the most time, etc. Also, make a list of everything you do (I mean everything) - then look at it honestly and ask yourself if you really have to do all those things. For example, and this is from a woman's perspective I know, but it's relevant - I didn't want to cook dinner every night - I work a lot and don't have time. So I started to learn how to make stuff in the slow cooker and BIG amounts - so I can make it the night before, then there's enough to freeze some for meals on days I don't have time to cook. Know what I mean? Get rid of anything that's not moving you toward your goals - meaningful to you and your family - even house cleaning, washing the car - any stuff you can do without. Eliminate little stuff and you'll free up some time. Sorry for rambling - I'm a super fast typist and that makes me long-winded! Good luck. You'll get this down. Debra
Thanks Debra! That is very helpful, and I think I'll implement some of that into my daily schedule!
