Big Changes Ahead
Today is my LAST weekday off work. That might sound like a bad thing, but I recently took a new job that will allow me to work LESS.
How Will I Work Less By Working Every Day?
I took position that will allow me to work 6 hours per day (Monday-Friday), leaving my 4-10hr shift schedule behind. For some people, working 4-10s is great. But for me, it wasn't working out so well. I was gone 4 evenings a week, meaning I didn't get a lot of quality time with my husband, and the days that I worked I did just about nothing else because the shift times fell right in the middle of the day.
I am excited to be on a day shift schedule and working part-time (30 hrs per week). Fortunately my commute is less than 15 minutes so I won't waste much more time commuting.
My Plans
I am really looking forward to all the life changes this transition will allow! More time to take care of household chores, dinner with my husband, and perhaps a few more evening activities. Also- holidays off! Working in a healthcare facility that is open 24-7 has always meant working holidays. This past year I worked Christmas AND New Years... Done with that!
I feel like I am getting my life back.
I'm also excited because I do believe this will allow me more time to dedicate to my time here, at Wealthy Affiliate, and working on my website.
Goals
My goal here is to be successful, which can really be defined in multiple ways as success to each person looks different.
Success for me means paying off my student loans sooner than my 10-year term. ANY amount of additional income will help me achieve that. Thinking back to when I first signed up for wealthy affiliate, my goal is $50/day. That would still make me ecstatic.
Now, I have yet to earn any income from this but I have only been here 3 months. My website is fairly new (I switched over to boot camp after starting another site and lost interest, but I may return), and I have a few posts but not as many as I should have.
Content creation is something I struggle with- but I intend to keep pushing through and hopefully posting more articles now that I will have the gift of TIME!
Now- I'm going to go enjoy this rare sunny day we're having in Washington. Happy Spring Equinox!

Hi Hannah, sometimes making those changes can make all the difference we are all more than just our jobs.
Looks like you have some really good goals moving forward, best wishes as you create some new outcomes, with your new time schedules.

Definitely agree. This job change is a bit of risk- cutting my hours, doing something different. It's all out of my comfort zone. But I can hope that I will only grow from it, and make time for things other than just 'work.'

Hey Kid .. I think we might be neighbors .. We have been having Incredible weather (for this time of year) here on the N Coast of Oregon, too ('tho it looks like "typical" weather will be returning tomorrow.
Anyhow .. that will give me .. and you too? .. time to knuckle down and "Work The Program" .. Make some real progress during that "Gift of time"
