Is there hope?

The question was raised with me about hope for the future.

We generally live in a bubble away from the impact of world events.
However;
World debt is at a level close to 94% of GDP the highest since the end of World War 2 and still alarm bells fail to have an effect.
The war in Ukraine does not look like going away as elections are held in Russia
Any hope for change is removed from reality, you simply do not oppose President Putin
Iran continues to hold out despite being in all sorts of trouble and the Straits of Hormuz stay closed
increasing the price of fuel back to covid levels, thus helping local inflation.
Will Argentina go to war with England over the Falklands wasting so much energy into territorial rights
Supermarket prices go up as transport costs rise without an end in sight.
Real wages stay fixed so the spending levels are reduced.
Interest rate rises create pain for both homeowners and renters
In many countries accommodation has become scarce and expensive as demand has risen
in part from an increased immigration, cost of building and development land costs spiraling.
Many hospitals are at peak capacity as an ageing population fill available beds and local Doctor
availability becomes less and more expensive.

Governments increasingly impose rules to prevent freedom of speech yet sanction the spread of
sexual ambiguity to our children

People still live in poverty as dictators demolish economies and drive sections of the community
into tented villages, waiting for years to escape.
Yet, with all this going on we generally live a comfortable life with three meals and a family with a roof over our heads.

So, what can we do?

I am reminded of the alcoholic's creed "“GOD grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference"

We can't change world events (other than at the Ballet Box) , we can't change those extorting prices ( only with our feet) We can't change monopolies colluding, Oil companies making record profits, Banks increasing prices, it has happened for years and will continue to happen.

God has a sort of help thy self-energy and that is where we are.
Keep your house in order , surround yourself with loved ones and make the changes that will improve the life of yourself and those around you. Stay healthy, exercise, eat properly because we know the world works in cycles and the next cycle will be different but probably not any better in real terms.
We have a responsibility to change the things we can that will provide a better view of the life we live and live a useful and supportive life surrounded and in step with family and friends.
Everyday people are delivering advances in world technologies in areas like climate change, Medical Advancements, communications technologies, cyber security. Only this week three of the leading individuals behind AI called for immediate guardrails in AI technologies.
AI has given the individual more power than they have ever envisaged. My wife is suffering from a chronic back problem and using Chat GPT to advise between what the specialists say and the Doctors argue giving a far greater insight to the cause and possible support. She goes to medical appointments armed to the teeth so that the wool is never pulled over her eyes. The old saying is you go to a surgeon to order surgery not get advice.

There is a well-known Hip and Knee surgeon in my town, a professor so at the top of his game. He won't operate until you have completed six months doing supervised Gym therapy. Interestingly a large number never need to go on the operating table being cured with conditioning.
I have drafted legal documents, written blogs, even built planning charts that all make our life a bit easier.
Working on line was a huge learning curve but now sources like Wealthy Affiliate provide answers and solutions to all the questions that yesterday took days to research. These are the things we can do.
