So, are you ready to just pack it in and get a job as a greeter at Walmart? Are your loved ones concerned about you? Begging for you to give up your silly dream because there are thousands of others doing the exact same thing? Well, that's fine by me. One less competitor. But here's the thing. It's not the fact that there are a thousands of people all trying to sell the same products and services, because there are billions who are looking for you. And it's the marketing that makes you stand out. Remember the Pet Rock? There are as many rocks on this planet as there are stars in the sky. You can pick up a rock within seconds of walking out your front door. But someone had the idea to frame rocks in a whole different light and sold ROCKS for $4.00 apiece and became a millionaire.

To this day, I still shake my head over that one. But it's always served to inspire me.

Because if you keep doing it long enough, pushing through the frustration, the overwhelm and all the other obstacles associated with being an entrepreneur, eventually, that one great idea combined with all of the things you've learned along the way - WILL pay off. Now, I'm not saying that if you have years of experience teaching high school chemistry, that you should collaborate with one of your students to become the biggest meth producer on the planet. But you can't be Walter White if you want to succeed, either.

It's a mindset that most of us are not born with or even taught. But it has to be acquired. Anytime you think you're in danger of losing everything because of too much competiton, because your friends and family keep telling you to give it up, that's when you have to release your inner Heisenberg. You have to believe with every fiber in your body. You have to KNOW it until it becomes embedded in your DNA. Say it out loud: "I'm not worried about the competition... I AM the competition. I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS."
