This afternoon, I had a thought. It was time for a nap; I know because I kept catching myself starting to nod out at my desk. I didn't want to sleep away the afternoon, so I thought a quick power nap would be good. That's when it dawned on me... Meditation

I used to meditate a lot when I was younger and I had a few "guided meditation" tapes that I used to help me have a good, deep session. It's been years since I saw any of those tape, so I figure they just got lost over the years whenever I moved to a new address, and they fell between the cracks. But then i thought about Youtube.

Youtube has a channel called "Relax My Dog" that I sometimes use for my own little fur buddy when I go leave for work. Well, if there's a dog relaxation music channel, I figured there must be... you guessed it!

So I searched "meditation" and sure enough, there are many meditation audios and videos on Youtube to choose from. I just went with the first one. It was 42 minutes long, which is about 20 minutes longer than I wanted to rest, but I just went ahead wnd did it anyway,

Forty minutes later, I sat up, refreshed and ready to go!

So, consider this a heads-up. If you need assistance with your meditation, give Youtube a try. There are many meditation videos to choose from. Reults are best with headphones,

Youtube is excellent to find most anything! And meditation is a great way to start the day! I used to meditate in the morning but haven't for awhile. I really should start again because I feel like I'm carrying way too much stuff in my head. Meditation helps me stay focused. Glad you found a solution! Alanna

My favorite time to meditate is in the late afternoon. That's about when I start to feel a bit run down and need the recharge.

Glad you remembered your younger years. Meditation is a great way to refresh. I try to meditate daily to calm the mind; it definitely helps to refocus. Thanks for sharing, Hal.

There isn't much you can't find on YouTube...I use it all the time for meditation. Glad you found it and it helped!

Me too. My next step is to explore the various meditations until I find nirvana (not to be confused with a video by the band called Nirvana)

Hi Hal, I've never done meditation, but I guess now I'm working solo I could do with a break every now and again. So, I'm going to give it a try, have a look on You Tube and see what happens. I love a challenge! Thanks, Sue :)

Very cool, Sue. One suggestion... try a few different meditation videos. Some are better than others. When you find one that you like, use that same one daily. They can be between 20 to 40 minutes. Most people prefer 20 minutes. Any longer than an hour is just a nap in my opinion, and you end up feeling more tired than when you started.

A goid meditation session maked you feel renewed and focused again!

That is a good idea! I have recorded a very nice one in which one hears the rain. I then am sitting in a Tibetan temple looking out over the high mountains. Absolutely beautiful and refreshing because I play this in the summer with 40C. It definitely cools down the body temperature.

Usually, go for the power nap, Hal but on thinking about it meditation can recharge the creativity in us all, Thanks for sharing hadn't thought of looking on youtube.

I consider power napping a form of meditation (if not the same exact thing). It produces the same end result in the a short time.
