If you save $10 monthly, you will be saving $120 annually, right? That's like you were making $10 monthly. No idea what your ISP (Internet Servicer Provider) is, mine is Optimum. But, wait a minute, what does that have to do with saving or making $10 or $120? Optimum started charging me $10 monthly about 10 months ago for their modem rental.

As far as I know, not only Optimum but also some ISP (probably most or all of them) are charging a monthly fee for their modem rental but good news is that you can get your own modem to not pay that fee. I got my modem already and installed it yesterday. After returning the modem to Optimum on Monday, I'll be good to go.

Let me know if you are interested in knowing more about this no matter what your ISP is since that shouldn't make a big difference.

US users could save money with this good info.

I am interested in the services of Optimum.

If you live in the US you can go to https://www.optimum.com/internet
but if you are looking for a company (ISP) where you can use your own modem, there are other companies besides Optimum: Comcast, Cox, Spectrum. Anyway, I suggest checking their websites or call them to make sure you can use your own modem.

Thanks, Tom. I happen to live in the Philippines and I did not hear about Optimum services for ISP. Is this the Optimum that sells Optimum products such as cookware and others?

No, it’s an Internet service provider (ISP) based in the US.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for the info but this must be overseas as I've never heard of it.

I've done that too, Tom. Moreover, you'll be happy to know I resurrected my old machine by taking your advice and doing that Windows 10 upgrade that technically had expired! Thanks for that info. I'ts not my primary computer anymore, but it does still have its uses!
