Create your Future
As an artist who has always had a knack for creating something out of nothing (job positions, artwork, places to live..), I realize it is time to begin creating what I want my future to entail. Not that there is anything wrong with allowing someone else to design and structure what they would like for you to do, but it is not the path for everyone.
Although it has not been for lack of trying, I find myself in a daily conundrum as to what my next move should involve. Do I pursue my craft and go on the open road to convince those I encounter that my time and talent is worth their paper? Do I forge a new and inventive way to sustain myself through marketing my skillsets and accomplishments thus far? These are questions that I ponder daily.
However, I am now at the top of the mountain, looking down. Perhaps I have been here for a while, setting up a basecamp that feels familiar and comfortable, just until I can wait out for the fog to lift in order to make my next decent. Now is the time to look down into the valley, blanketed in light, and prepare to walk in the direction of my beginning.
What awaits will be purposeful, it will give me a sense of drive. What happens next is solely up to me. I have the notion to pack up my belongings and walk toward the sunshine. As I ready myself for the journey, I will remember that it is I who got me here and it is I who will take me further.

Lovely post. I have a bit of that gypsy nature in me. I tend to be on the road a lot, its more home than anywhere specifically on the path. Yet the familiarity of a basecamp. Wish I was able to believe in myself to believe I could go that way and support myself by marketing my skillsets. I wish lots of luck on your journey.
Thanks for sharing. I agree that it is always a challenge to pull yourself up out of the mundane or comfortable seat that you have been perched in, in order to spread your wings and soar around for a little while. Marketing yourself seems to be THE KEY. I have always had a struggle with self-confidence in my abilities, yet I am shown time and time again that whatever I put my energy into creates success.
