From the ashes . a new computer
I have been offline for about 3 1/2 weeks, pretty much when the Gogetters got started. My computer has been a source of frustration ever since I began my work here at Wealthy Affilliate, it's not Wealthy Affiliate's fault at all, it's the free laptop I got from Telus, when I switched providers.
When I got this machine, I didn't know much about computers and I'm sure I did something in the beginning, or during the last 5 years, that has MESSED it up. But since I have been doing so many sign-up's to new accounts everywhere, and figuring out links and all the workings of different programs, have taken their toll.
Sunday was a great day, I was able to get another awesome blog onto my web site, and did some Jaxxy work. I caught up on Emails and noticed my rank is way high, then , the computer froze again.
I had Monday off and wanted to get caught up on things, but the computer had other ideas, this time it was bad. Within just a few minites from start up, it would freeze, over and over. I tried a few different ways to reboot it, hold the button down, pull the power cord and battery at the same time.
It was useless, it's dead I said to myself. How can I get another computer? On my computer is a feature called Cortina, and it all ways gets in my way when I type or use the touch pad, it always asks what it can do for me, so I thought, I will do a controlled re-start.
As I typed in R-E-S, "reset", was generated. With a little research and a phone call, I PUSHED THE BUTTON.
It took about 3 hours, I waited, I wondered if I did the right thing. The thought of losing all my stuff or access, I did get the warning messages about apps removed and program deletions, to late now.
THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER CREATED!!!
I couldn't believe this was my computer, it is so fast and everything seems brighter and clear, my E mail works flawlessly and start-up is a faction of the time. The sites I use are asking if this is my computer.....YEAH, it is.....Back To Work

A part of me said "don't do it, it will make things worse", but at some point I knew I had to do it because, I no longer HAVE a computer.
Thanks for the HIGH FIVE on my unexpected fortune.

thanks DE, I feel like I can be creative now, instead of the frustration about what's not working.
It was like when you are driving your car on a gravel road for miles and then you turn on to a paved hiway.
Smooth and fast.
Thanks for noticing.....Guy Krow
