Persistence is not Optional!
I've been involved in marketing for about 20 years now; both on and off the internet. I have found that the one thing that pays off is persistence. I took a year off from WA and now I am back. Starting over again. Many things have changed and I have developed some bad work habits.
So I'm starting over just as if I was a beginner and learning from the ground up. I already feel like it is paying off. One of the things that has helped me was reading a book by Josh Kaufman titled "The First 20 hours". He talks about learning how to do anything in 20 hours. Will you be a master...no! But you should be able to do it with some competency; well enough for some self satisfaction. He has many suggestions that I have found helpful in his book. I probably should set this up so I could earn a commission if you bought his book. But I just want to help anyone who takes the time to read this. It is a small book and worth the read.
It has always seemed like when I was about to quit, That was when I was breaking through to succeed. So when you are thinking about quitting realize you too are probably about to have a breakthrough. Nothing worth having was gained without some good old fashioned hard work. So when you are most tempted and hardest hit, don't you quit!

Persistence is that allusive word that no one sees when they see the successful. But persistence is where it starts
Drive and perseverance is what will get the job done, keep your vision in tact and grind like there is no tomorrow.
Thank you for your post. I have to admit that persistence is the key to anything. Thank you for reminding us all to persevere and not to give up. With role models like you newbies like myself are inspired.
