Engage or Get Left Behind: Understanding the New AI Reality

One of my key resources in an attempt to stay upto date with AI developments is Matt Wolfe's YouTube channel. His recent video is essentially a wake‑up call about how fast AI is accelerating faster than most people realize and why the next 1–3 years may reshape work, economics, and society more dramatically than the last decade of tech combined.

He draws heavily from Matt Shumer’s viral article and Dario Amodei’s warnings arguing that:

• AI is already performing multi‑hour tasks autonomously.
• AI is now building the next generation of AI, creating a feedback loop.
• Many white‑collar jobs are at real risk of rapid automation.
• The people closest to the technology are the ones sounding the alarm.
• The best move for individuals is to engage early, experiment, and build with AI.

That last point reenforces Matt Shumer's message in the section What you should actually do "I'm not writing this to make you feel helpless. I'm writing this because I think the single biggest advantage you can have right now is simply being early. Early to understand it. Early to use it. Early to adapt."
