Borrowed IQ & The Real Workflow Shift Happening Inside WA

Kyle’s recent article on Borrowed IQ, https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/borrowed-iq-and-why-the-next-wave-of-millionaires-is-being-built-right-now, landed at exactly the right moment for me. Not because it introduced something new, but because it named something many of us have been feeling but haven’t fully appreciated yet, the shift from using AI to working with AI. And that shift changes everything.
Most people still treat AI like a clever assistant, something you ask a question, get an answer, and move on. But the real transformation happens when AI becomes part of our workflow, not just our curiosity.
Kyle captured this perfectly when he said the next wave of millionaires will be built by people who learn to direct far more capability than any solo creator ever had access to before. That’s the heart of Borrowed IQ.
Let me share a quick story that brought this home for me.
A real example: Building a full Wix site with zero prior experience
Recently, I was approached by a client who had purchased a 3 year Wix license and wanted her site to be built using it. I have developed a number of websites using WordPress and Elegant Themes DIVI platform over the years. However, I barely knew the Wix platform. In the past, to even begin the website development, that would have meant:
• going through the platform's documentation and tutorials
• looking for relevant tutorials on YouTube
• hours of trial and error
• frustration
• wrong turns
• and probably a few “start over” moments
I did spend some time on the first two points above but was not getting anywhere real fast so I decided to turn to Microsoft's Copilot AI. I began working with Copilot as my mentor/coach/tutor step by step guide through the process.
Every layout decision, every structural choice, every design question and every “where do I find this setting?” moment Copilot was there to guide me.
Instead of guessing, I was learning the Wix process. Instead of stumbling I was constructively building the website to meet my client's requirements and I made reasonably rapid progress. Instead of feeling lost, I felt supported. I was the director and implementor with AI being my support along the journey.
The result?
A professional, fully structured site built with confidence using a platform I barely knew. And to date the client is happy and for the first time I have had a client who has not asked for any modifications or changes to her site.
That is what "Borrowed IQ" is about, not shortcuts but capability to succeed whilst learning on the way.
This experience showed me that even when we’re working outside WA, whether it’s Wix, Shopify, Canva, WordPress, Divi or anything else, "Borrowed IQ" still applies. AI can guide us through unfamiliar territory and help us build confidently, even in platforms we’ve never touched before.
The 16% insight — and why it matters
Kyle mentioned that only 16% of people have redesigned their workflows around AI.
That number is staggering.
It means:
• 84% are dabbling
• 84% are using AI like a search engine
• 84% are missing the transformation

• 84% are stuck in old workflows with new tools
The opportunity is enormous. Borrowed IQ isn’t about being smarter. It’s about being supported. It’s about directing a team of capabilities that used to require:
• designers
• writers
• researchers
• editors
• strategists
• developers
Now, one person can orchestrate all of it — if they shift their workflow.
WA’s role in this shift
One thing I appreciate in Kyle’s article is his emphasis on WA building an environment where AI isn’t bolted on as a gimmick, but woven into how we:
• research
• plan
• write
• publish
• engage
• earn
WA has always been about capability. AI simply expands that capability.
But the next step, and the one I think many members need, is guided workflows.
Not just tools. Not just features. Not just “ask AI anything.” Actual workflows.
• Step by step.
• Tutor style.
• Coaching.
• Mentoring.
• Partnering.
• Confidence building.
The kind of guidance that helps members move from “AI as a helper” to “AI as a workflow partner.”
Borrowed IQ is the future but only if we use it. Borrowed IQ isn’t a slogan. It’s a shift in how we work.
It’s the difference between:
• doing everything yourself
• and directing a team of capabilities
It’s the difference between:
• dabbling
• and building
It’s the difference between:
• asking questions
• and creating systems
Kyle’s message is timely, and I’m grateful for it. It’s a reminder that the tools are here, the opportunity is here, and the workflow shift is already happening.
I am eagerly awaiting the developments that Kyle has mentioned in direction that WA is taking.
Cheers
Geoff
