This is a question that I think has so many layers to it, but I will do my best to give an answer that makes sense......for the most part.
Rather than answering this based purely o what I was told I decided to look online via some trusted sources I have referred to for this articles on MOZ.com, TheSEMPost.com, GooglesWebmaster Central blog, the answers are pretty much the same. If you have a blog or website already, and want to copy the content. The quick answer is don't. Google indexes pages for authenticity. Basically, Google makes a copy of as much text data on each web page per site as it can, and compares the data across its entire database to ensure plagiarism has not occurred. Google blacklists sites for copying content, even when it is by the same author.

The easiest way to get around this issue without pulling your hair out is to imagine you are the reader, and after reading, imagine what questions come up. Use the questions to further expand what you have answered or asked in your blog/article that you want to copy. Failing that, change the words, and add more detail to your blog post.
To be honest it is far easier to just use what you have written as inspiration which will allow you to tease out something better, as you are now looking at what you have written subjectively.
