Thank you for your replies, but I think you misunderstood my question. I am not new to Facebook, Pixel, API or programming. I am specifically asking if anyone has experience with the specific plugin - "Facebook for Wordpress". That's the name of the plugin. If anyone has experience with it, I would appreciate the answer to the three questions I posted above.

Hello,

Have any of you tried setting up the new Conversions API for your Facebook advertising campaigns yet? If so, how did you do that or what tool are you using?

Greg, follow the link below for setting up your facebook business accounts. There is also a facebook plug in you can use to create ads right on your website, although too many plug ins are bad and I haven't used the plug in myself. Once you create the business page you can go in and get a pixel, the pixel number is used in your seo settings. I have squirrly and there is a place to insert the number. Squirrly has it's own analytics tracking.

https://plugin.squirrly.co/

I would contact site support

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

If option unavailable, you may want to consider another provider.

Thanks. Yes, I am familiar with various API option setups, including through CustomerLabs, so I was asking those who have implemented Conversions API to find out which route they took. This was in light of the fact that I have contacted site support, as indicated in my original post, but was told that the option I was inquiring about - Conversions API Gateway through AWS - was unavailable because WA won't allow creation of A Records for DNS setup that would point to an external IP. Another provider is definitely an option at the moment, but before I migrate, I want to explore other options. Thanks for the reply :)

It is very limited to what we can do here. Site support are the folks to ask.

And ff that's the case, you need seek another to connect, should you want pursue further.

Thank you for your notes.

Hey Gregory,

All I did was Google search to find the instructions posted by Facebook and then I followed them. See screen print below...

It was awhile ago now, so I would suggest that you leave your search results open in case you need to refer to ANY of the instructions offered to you.

I seem to remember having to check a few different pages out and that it required me to add another plugin.

Hope you find this helpful.

Oh wow, so you actually implemented the API yourself? I stayed away from this option and was considering AWS setup, thinking that setting API up myself may be too complex for me. Not sure what your level of programming is compared to mine, but you certainly inspired me to take a look at doing it myself more seriously! Thanks ;)

There's no programing involved Gregory, so don't worry about that part. I HAD to setup the API because Facebook stopped sharing my featured images on my fan pages as well as my own personal profile.

All posts on their platform appeared with large white images where the feature images were previously. So technically, I was forced to comply to THEIR wishes if I want to continue "playing in their sandbox".

It's NOT technical at all. Just backup your website BEFORE you begin... and then go through Facebook's guides before looking for help in the other posts shared in your Google search.

That's how you will understand WHO to trust... IF... you find Facebook's instructions a bit too difficult to understand.

Years ago, I had to search the internet for help in doing EVERYTHING online. Now I'm REALLY glad I've learned how to search for information.

Using Google is like walking into a BIG library with all sorts of documentation and information... and now you have to go to the filing cabinets to look through their indexes to find out WHERE in that LARGE building that the information may be found.

Only now... you've got the WORLD at your finger tips.

Hey Gregory,

According to Pinterest, there are different types of rich pins: https://help.pinterest.com/en/business/article/rich-pins

You may also gain an advantage reviewing this guide: https://business.pinterest.com/en/rich-pins

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you, Triblu,

Yes, I have reviewed those before and I chose the type of pins I want (article). Still, no luck. Which is strange, because I followed all the steps and consulted SO many guides, including the Pinterest ones.

They stated that the rich pins do not always appear the same and I thought perhaps that is what you may find helpful info.

try a lightbox plugin, plenty of free ones. just check for ones that have been updated recently and have more good reviews than bad https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/lightbox/

Thank you, Angela! This is precisely what I was looking for :)

happy to help :)

Hey Greg,

The ONLY way that I am aware of is for you to upload your image where you want it to be, by clicking on "Add Media" button above (left) the edit window and then making the link clickable to the ORIGINAL image you uploaded.

See screen print below...

When you add an image (click on "Add Media") go down to the "Link to" box and select "Media File" and then below make it full size. Then, when someone clicks on your image, it will open it in another window. Will that work for you?

Actually, don't make it full size unless you want it full size on your page. Make it whatever size you want because when they click on it, it will open another window.

Right, that's one way, but it's not what I am trying to do. Instead, I want the image to just pop out of the page. Here is an example:

http://www.footyheadlines.com/2017/09/stunning-tsv-1860-munchen-2017-oktoberfest-kit.html

If you click on any large image on this page (the white shirt), you will see it pop out of the page and enlarge. It can then be closed very easily with one click on the X in the top right corner. I know this is done via a plugin and I am aware that there are a few of those out there. I am just trying to find out which one people would recommend :)

Is an affiliate website considered a commercial site? I see a lot of images I would like to use in my posts and evergreen pages, but many of them come with the "editorial" lice

Hi Greg,

Better to consider all content within your website as commercial ;)

That being said, there are a lot of resources with very good quality images for free. Just search Google for "free stock photos" and you'll find resources like pexels.com, stockvault.net, etc ;)

Hey Greg,

The following posts may offer you the help you seek: http://www.business2community.com/blogging/use-editorial-use-images-blog-posts-01079000

Thank you very much for the link. I actually read that article before and I still don't think it answers my question fully. Perhaps you can understand it better?

I am quite certain that including editorial images in posts that have affiliate links may not be allowed, because those posts are - let's face it - for a commercial use. But a page on the same website without affiliate links (like a "how to" page) is not a commercial page. Still, the entire website is commercial, so this is where the confusion comes in :) At least for me!

Personally, I won't use editorial pictures because the "small print" is to fine a line. Because my use of such an image might be construed as crossing that fine line, I simply avoid any chance of a lawsuit by NOT using editorials images.

You are absolutely right. I guess I really wanted to explore the idea of the editorial images, to see if there is any wiggle room here. But while there may be, it's - as you say - a thin line. Best to stay away.
