I have food blog and all pics are created by me. I am in dilemma about putting or not my site name at the bottom corner of each pic. What do you think? www.cyprusprimal.com

You're putting some really great pictures on your site. I don't think that putting small "http://cyprusprimal.com" notations on them would detract from them at all.

Thank you!!

Sorry, you can leave off the "http://" portion. That's only in my post because the WA software inserted it. (I didn't notice that it was there when I originally posted.)

Many people tend to put their site name somewhere in the picture. If you have a Pinterest account and Pin the photo, it will also be identified with you always.

Other people may have a different view of course. Good luck whatever you choose to do.

When I search for some recipies in Google, I can see listed web site name, recipe and a picture of the recipe. I would like to implement this for my blog but I don't know how.

Do you mean snippets ?
Not sure if this is what you mean but I wrote a training some time ago about adding rich snippets to your posts Hope this helps?
Angélique

Yes, exactly what I was looking for but only today I learn about it from you. Thank you very much

You are welcome! Glad I could help. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about it ;)

The sites doing that are marking up their documents with schema.org/Recipe microdata.

Probably the best way to do this in WordPress is to find a plugin, specifically built for recipes that the schema.org/Recipe microdata optimised for Google Recipe search.

You probably already use a recipe plugin, Gordana? If so, go back and look over its documentation. Do a browser "find" on the word "schema" to see if it's anywhere on the page. Generally they should list this in their "features" section, because it's so important.

If not, then google something like wordpress recipe scheme. Several options should come up.

Once you find a couple, then go to wordpress.org/plugins and re-find those specific plugins there via their on-page search. I like wordpress dot org's plugin page for this, because they lay out features, changes; there are reviews and a click on reviews can reveal problem areas; it shows the latest WP version with which the plugin is compatible (to see if the plugin is up to date); and more.

In the features section of the plugin page, it should also list schema dot org, mentioning the Recipe microdata That's how the recipes are shown with their image and some level of detail.

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much , I will need to check this out as its all new to me!

Many of my photos appear in search engines, can give you examples. So what you have to do is to apply SEO on images. See this training and the link for another one inside

Excellent training, I will start implementing from today, also I will need to check on all already uploaded pics.
I just need to clarify one point. Do I need to resize pics before uploading in my new post or I can upload as it is and then go Add Media - Insert Media - Edit Pic and there on the spot to resize image? I just noticed when I insert pic I see 3552x2368 1MB ?!

Also one more thing, I just notice my images not have file name, only numbers. Do I need to delete already uploaded images from my posts , rename images and add long keywords , and then uploaded them again, or there is other way around?

If you change it you will have to upload again. It is easy to make a mess with it. Be careful.

I always resize before, but I have seen others to this after, not my way.

I would like to use my own pictures, but when I uploaded them they are small size and not stretched enough to cover post window. How to solve that problem?

Hello there.

Unfortunately, you cannot do anything to photos that are already taken at a certain resolution. How was the original photo taken? Was it from your phone's camera?

You need to check your camera's resolution quality. The size of an image is affected by its resolution. For example, a 5 megapixel camera will be able to produce an image larger than from a camera of 3 megapixel.

You can try re-taking those photos, but this time take note of your camera's resolution settings.

You can also simply stretch the photos to your desired size, however, if your image is of low resolution, you will soon discover that it will get more blurry as you stretch it.

Hope that helps =)

You can actually change the size of the image. When you add the image you want into your post, look at the bottom right and select the size of the image below the Attachment Display Settings – Size. Next, click Insert into post.

If you’re not satisfied with the size, you can make it bigger. To do that, click on that image and you’ll see the small squares at the end of the image. Click and drag any of the small squares up and down to make it bigger.

My camera pictures are small is size when added to my posts?

Any suggestion on how to start with face oils niche and writing my fist page

Hi Gordana I did a Jaaxy search to see where you might want to start so I quickly did this search "best facial cleansing oil 144 25 35 98" what came up was rather nice for a start 144 monthly searches and only a competition score of 35 which is extremely low, these are the types of keyword searches you want to focus on to build your site content and achieve good rankings for your posts. Posts not pages are what you will want to write. So your post title might be Facial cleansing oil - why it should be part of your nightly routine!. You can always PM me and I can look at your site and give you some advice when you need it, hope that helps somewhat, talk soon Mike.

Thank you Mike , that was really helpful. I am preparing my first post and hope to post it out soon !

That's great news look forward to reading it Gordana, have a great day

Mike another thing please, lets say if I am to write my very first post about particular face oil, do you think its better to add affiliate link to that particular product straight away? Writing and promoting product at the same time?

Hi Gordana, I feel that links shouldn't be external until you have established yourself with Google. You should do internal linking between posts this will help your SEO not hurt it. External lnks from my experience have a negative effect your SEO.
Rule of thumb that I go by is 15 posts gives Google a good sense of who you are and demonstrates you are a knowledge based authority site not just a sales page which is what you want, after that external links don't seem to have a negative impact on your ranking and it's time to start selling.

This is something you need to take into consideration before starting your niche site. Will you be able to write posts relevant to your chosen niche, for months and years to come?

Chances are you will, it just takes a little learning to understand how to go about it. I like to use a tool called ubersuggest

https://ubersuggest.io/

Go there and type in face oils, see how many suggestions you get. That should give you plenty of scope for posts for your site. Make some notes too, otherwise you'll find yourself saying "I wish i made a note of those keywords last week!

Then once you have found something you'd like to write about, start to make a rough article, it doesn't have to be perfect, see it like a rough sketch or a framework to your eventual post. Before committing it to your website you could do what I do. I draft everything into a word processor first, once I'm happy with how it looks i then start building my post onto my website )

i know it sounds like a lot to do, but once you do it a few times you will be knocking them out like second nature :)

Yes, you are right. I need to start drafting my first post and get moving. I am spread between posts and creating my first web page. At the moment I am struggling with web design and getting to know more about WP

It ll takes time, don't rush yourself.
