I was looking at my traffic on GA and noticed that after my first month of operation, the largest source of traffic was labeled "cookie law enforcement" and "eu cookie law enfo

Thanks everyone, I walked through the great training here on WA by Aliee to rid my sight of ghost spam and now have some filters built in. Now back to writing good content so that the next visitor is a real visitor.

A shame this is a spoiler. The one good thing to come out of it is getting an effective spam filter.

I agree with Malibuken, this scare tactic arrogance smells of spam....

Looks like it is spam

Found this site which may relate to your issue

This is depressing, here I thought I was getting great traffic in my first month of the business. Now I find out it's mostly just Ghost Spam. Aghhhh. Thanks for sending me this link, I'll consider paying them at some point to create filters and clean up my GA data.

I've created a page of terms for my website. At the top of the page is a table listing all of the terms. Is there a way to create a link so that visitors can click on a term

In applying for an affiliate program, they ask for my FTC disclosure if I'm a blog, do reviews and/or use social media. Can anyone shed some light on this? Not sure what I ne

If you used the disclosure you mentioned in the comment below "DISCLOSURE: I have no material relationship to any brand or person mentioned in/on this website, its pages, or posts" you would be misleading your readers. When you are an affiliate you DO have a material (financial) relationship with the brand you are promoting. You get paid when someone makes a purchase based on your recommendation.

Here is the official publication https://www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/attachments/press-releases/ftc-staff-revises-online-advertising-disclosure-guidelines/130312dotcomdisclosures.pdf

Thanks - I'll sit down and read through this publication tonight.

I don't think you need to send it to them.

It is supposed to be published on your website and readily visible on your pages/posts that are promoting affiliate products.

I have a disclaimer page with a link, but that is not good enough for some programs, so I added a disclaimer to my Author bio at the end of every post.

Private message me if you would like the link to my site.

Best,
JV

Can I just add the following to my privacy page?

DISCLOSURE: I have no material relationship to any brand or person mentioned in/on this website, its pages, or posts

DISCLAIMER: I am not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV. The information provided herein is not legal advice and is only based on my personal experiences and research as a blogger. None of what you read on my site should be considered a substitute for you consulting your own legal counsel who will guide you in your private/personal/financial matters.

Hello, I'm not sure if you've found the answer to your question yet but adding that to your privacy page isn't enough. The FTC says the disclosure needs to occur close to the affiliate link. Also, a disclosure lets people know that you earn commissions when they buy through your affiliate link. I wrote a post about disclosures on my website: http://wahtrail.com/affiliate-marketing-disclosure
