I just thought I would put a short blog out there while I wait for Shareasale and Amazon to approve me as an affiliate. My site is http://coffeesultan.com It is a site designed to help people pick gifts for the coffee lovers and associates in there life. I plan to put links in two of my post pages, Kyle says not to get too carried away or it could hurt my ranking. I want to put links in the post about espresso and cappuccino machines because there is more of a profit margin there. I want to put links in the post about Kona coffee beans and roast too. I also plan to add another post soon about the French Press. Tried to use some good key words so I hope I'll get some rankings.

I would like to know how to go about the process of first applying or asking for an affiliate status?

Do a google search for your product + affiliate programs and just go through the application process. You can also do a search for affiliate networks and apply to some of these because they have a lot of companies under there umbrella in one place.
