First Post of a Wary Newby
Happy New Year everyone.
2018 is the year I decided I had to do something to get serious about an online income. This blog will potentially be a log of the journey unless it morphs into something else.
Wealthy Affiliate lured me in via an email series that sounded like it was based on reality - as in, if I wanted this I'd have to work for it. And there was no talk of money. Completely different to other online offerings that started talking big numbers and flash cars in the first email, second paragraph. Quite frankly, their typical spiel would put me off because none of it sounded real. .
I have only been here a few days and admit to being a little wary after pushing that sign up button. But I am finding the community quite active and supportive. The training also seems easy enough. Not too strenuous, offered in small enough chunks and able to be completed at my own pace.
My first 'day' on the site was spent just looking around, clicking on this and that and seeing what and who was here. Reading about people and what brings them to Wealthy Affiliate. Almost like a stalker really.
Being a bit of a loner who tries to figure things out on her own, reaching out isn't something I generally do. I don't like to bother anyone. But the training encourages interaction, so some of my clicking has been following people who sound interesting for various reasons.
Side tracking is a huge issue for me. Internet surfing will often send me off on reading tangents. This site has loads of things to read hence the reason after almost a week I'm only up to Course 1 Lesson 3. But the numerous articles available have been very informative, so I figure it hasn't been wasted time.
I'm currently up to choosing a niche in the training course and have sent a message to my mentor on a couple of ideas to see what he thinks. I also intend to go premium - I would have done it tonight but I have a less than acceptable internet situation at home, as in, we have none. So I came down to the local café with money for a coffee but no credit card. Oh well, according to the countdown clock I can hang out till tomorrow.
