So, Here's What I Did.
I wrote a couple of posts here at WA about following each other and the huge amount of emails that go along with following large numbers people.
After thinking about it for a while, I went to my profile page and, at the very bottom, found the button that turns off email notifications.
I said to myself, "Self, let's find out what that little button does."

I turned them off.
See the blue "No" button above? Yep, I did it.
Ah, the bliss of not having to keep up with all those emails! The button actually worked!
Well, the bliss lasted for less than a week. I think I was hooked on finding out what everyone had to say, and with notifications turned off, that wasn't happening.

Silly me, I went back and turned the notifications on again.

Back to the blue "Yes" button.
Why did I go back?
I went back for a couple of reasons.
- It was more difficult to find out who had started to follow me
- I was missing out on too much information
- My email just kind of sat there, and didn't change
- I missed the community
Ok, more than a couple.
Yes, I have to admit it, I missed the community. I'm not much of a social person. I mean, I have my friends like everyone else, but it seemed like the people at WA that I was beginning to consider as friends were suddenly gone.
Not gone, but it was like a wall had dropped between us.
"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!" Famous words from Ronald Reagan.
I tore down the wall.
I'm going to be punished for doing so by getting huge numbers of emails now.
I'm smilin!
I"m Grant.
