The Current Status of Covid-19 in South Africa
Hello Wealthy Affiliate Friends, I want to explain what is currently happening in my country.
In South Africa we have 5 Alert Levels to comply by. Starting with Level 5 which is the very harsh restrictions and moving on to Level 1 which is nearly back to normal.
Level 5 has drastic measures to contain the spread of the virus and save lives.
The objective of Level 4 is extreme precautions to limit community transmission and outbreaks, while allowing some activity to resume.
Level 3 has restrictions on many activities, including at workplaces and socially, to address a high risk of transmission.
Level 2 is physical distancing and restrictions on leisure and social activities to prevent a resurgence of the virus.
And at Level 1 most normal activity can resume, with precautions and health guidelines followed all times.
Population prepared for an increase in alert levels if necessary.
Currently we are still on Level 5, but 1st May we are moving to Level 4.
Thank you for reading what is happening in South Africa.
Blessings for all.
Giliam

Hi Giliam,
I am also from SA, Cape Town. Left 8 years ago (and still get on my knees to thank God that I did!) Now in Spain.
I communicate on a daily basis with friends in SA so I am well aware of the situation. At least here we can buy any amount of booze and ciggies if you want them. Many of the South Africans must be going cold turkey (what? no brandy, no Lexingtons; in a nation that have the world's highest boozing and "braing" rate!),
The situation in your part of the world has many different threat aspects compared to more "civilized" countries. Here for example the government is paying workers that were forced to isolate, 70% of their salaries. In SA the useless UIF have no funds to pay.
If things get worse there, you may face massive looting and civil unrest. They are already murdering the farmers in brutal ways and the Ramaphosa clan just turn a blind eye. Lets face facts; if corona does't get you, anyway you are heading for a Zimbabwe like fate.
Stay strong. Nobody can predict the future!

Hi Gilliam. It is truely a scarey move considering the fact that most people don't abide at all by the restrictions that have been put in place even from level 5, imagine what's gonna happen when some of the restrictions get lifted. We only need to wait and see though hoping all will go well
Stay safe and God bless
