I know that it's recommended that we keep the plug ins on our site below 5 to maximise loading speed and site health, but is anyone adhering to that?
I find it quite diffic
Thanks for all the advice everyone,
I really appreciate it. I felt like i was about to hit a roadblock because it seems like we need a plug in for everything!
Was worried i would compromise my sites functionality for its health if I deleted too many.
I did a site loading speed check and found that a few things were slowing it down.
I had to compress a lot of images to speed it up, but of course, I needed a another plug in to do it!
Thanks again,
Geoff
Hey Geoff,
Doing a quick Google search for "how many plugins are too many" (without the quotation marks, of course) I was offered quite a variety of posts offering advice. You might want to start there.
A a quick response to your question here could cause your site issues without a site-wide audit actually being conducted. Again, that too you can Google search for and conduct for yourself. In this way, you will have first-hand knowledge.
As long as you do not compromise the site health have as many as you want , for me I like to choose the ones are really useful . The rest I will decide on priority need yes or no .
There are many people going over that "threshold" of having 5 plugins. I am one of the few that has 3. Though, I am considering adding a Yoast plugin. So, as MoritzS stated, it doesn't matter how many plugins you have as long as it loads quickly.
Armand
Technically it is possible. But it most likely will mess up your SEO.
Both plugins do the same things (more/less), so they would compete with each other.
I have 15 plugins on my main website.
As long as your site loads fast, everything is ok.

I've been trying to add a picture to my blog post titles as they appear on my main page but nothing seems to work. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks much!
Geoff
On your WordPress editor screen in the bottom right area just under where you set your Tags you will see a link that says Set Featured Image.
Click that link and it will open the Media Library, just like it does when you add images to your website content. The only difference is that you do not set the position of left-center-right.
If you're talking about feature images, this might help How to Add a Featured Image to your Wordpress Post If you're just referring to any imagery, then this might help Adding An Image To A Page Or Post
The only way that I'm aware of for it to be done is by adding custom CSS to your WordPress style sheet.
But there may be a plugin - heck there seems to be a plugin for everything now-a-days - lol
You may want to do a search on YouTube - I'm sure you'll many video tutorials - do a search something like - can you add a picture to a wordpress post title
