No waiting period. It took about 12 hours for mine to transfer. It does mention in NameCheap that the domain has to be registered for 60 days but this does not apply to WA. Hope this helps.

also selected a title and webpage. Getting: request can not be made at this time. Do I need to purchase a domain first and create and upload wordpress Lost my sequence.
First step - Purchase a domain name at namecheap, godaddy, wherever.
Second step - Change the DNS addresses at your registrar to point to WA's servers (ns1.mywahosting.com and ns2.mywahosting.com).
Third step - Use siterubix Sitebuilder to create the site. (This installs wordpress as part of the process.)
I did all of that and it still say's "request can't be made at this time. How long to wait before domain is ready?
If you've *just* changed the DNS settings, WA's servers may not be seeing the change yet. For the most part, DNS changes will occur within an hour or two. Worst case can take up to a full day.
You can check the settings yourself by going to the website who.is and typing yoru domain into the search bar. The new page that opens when you click the "Search" icon will display your current DNS settings. If they haven't updated there yet, WA's servers probably won't be able to see them either.
If the problem persists even after the DNS change is visible, you should probably open a support ticket to have the situation looked into.
