HI all,

If I download a WordPress template / theme to my computer for web domain that I bought late last year, how do I get all of the files to upload to my web space?

Hiya :)

(*note - remember to back up your WordPress site before you make any changes with your theme.)

If you have WordPress installed on that domain, then you should be able to go to Appearance then themes on your dashboard. Once you are there you can select the "add new" button (at top) and it will take you to a screen with lots of themes on there.

If the theme you are trying to upload is not there but on your computer like you said, then you would choose the "upload theme" button (again at the top). It will walk you through choosing the file, then install after choosing the file. The theme needs to be in a .zip file.

After you have installed it you only need to activate it to use it but don't do this until you have backed up your WordPress site if you have any content on it you don't want to lose. This is always best practice, just in case.

I hope that helps :)

Helped me so All I do is upload my new .zip theme file to wordpress and Whallaa!

Were the "files" on a website server? Normally, WP themes transfer data/page sata automatically. If your data was on a server, I believe you wouls cut & paste the page data... page by page. WP works differently than the website construction methods.
