Marketing Using A "My Story"

You know what’s dumb?

Marketing using a “My Story”.

Yeah, go ahead, ponder for weeks about how you’ll retell the same story your favourite guru tells about how you went from nobody to somebody, and hope it sells something at your website.

Seems like everyone was a Cinderella, waited tables, and lived in their cruel parents’ basement. Until they discovered this “secret system” that finally took them from loser to winner.

WHO GIVES A FLYING DUMP?

They think they’re so clever.

Probably a million dollars in debt! Friggin’ losers.

It’s not like anyone cares when they go to Kentucky F**’d Chicken about how Colonel Sanders stole from Pink Beard the Pirate his secret recipe of 7 secret herbs and spices.

You buy because you’re hungry.

You buy because you like Fried Chicken (Ew!)

You buy because you like cheap grease.

YOU DON’T BUY because you’re so inspired by the Colonel and his creepy adventures.

And if you sell info products and systems,

STOP TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF!

No one straight in the head is going to read your story, become so overwhelmed with inspiration (I wanna be like you when I grow small!), and hand you 20,000 bucks for some mysterious magic genie system.

A brand story is just a gimmick; an ego boost.

People buy because THEY live in a basement.

Have a great day and thanks for reading.

lol. Great point - people buy because they are hungry . . .
I think the reason for the 'story telling' is to build rapport, but they usually end up shooting themselves in the foot!
