The heavy snowfall in Buffalo NY reminded me of my childhood in Timmins Ontario in the early 40's I can remember helping shovel a 6 to 7 foot deep path from our front door to the street. I lived in Timmins from 1936 until Dec I945. Timmins is situated 429 miles north of Toronto, as isolated as it was in the 30's the population was around 30,000 and was quite well developed with good school system, shopping, movie theatres, medical care, fire and police protection.
