A New Start!

When welcoming a new born, parents are filled with pride, joy and sometimes a little bit of fear especially if they are first time parents. Over the last few weeks, those same feelings have visited me at one time or another after taking the leap to Premium membership. Becoming a Premium member is like nurturing and loving a precious gift with a hint of "What have I gotten myself into". While we know that watching the process of growth can be rewarding we have to be prepared in order to maximize the joys and limit the more challenging times.

So how do we do that?

Raising Gain.

New parents often arm themselves with resources on parenting that focus on what to expect during various stages of a newborn's development. The format of the texts are normally organized based on stages and the behaviors you should expect during that time. This information provides a benchmark of growth and change and can be a great source of comfort as newbies navigate uncharted waters.

Note: Growth is based on individual situations.

In this same way, WA rookies can derive some comfort from having a road map that can help measure progress as they maneuver the WA platform. Here are some stages I have found useful as I strive to reach my goals.

• Stage One: Training- Wealthy Affiliates provides a great starter training platform. It is easy to navigate and easy to understand. The information presented there is comprehensive and if followed consistently, you will soon breathe a sigh of relief when you have finally deciphered all the acronyms. (I'm personally keeping a vocabulary journal. It's the teacher in me.) So how long should the training take? It's up to you. I work a full time job so I am committed to completing one lesson a day. If you can handle more, go for it! But be consistent.
• Stage Two: Support System- Wealthy Affiliates is a very supportive community. Many of the members are available to chat with and answer questions. Yes, even the questions you may think are silly. Believe me I know I've asked a few. That's OK. They make themselves available just for that reason. They understand that this process of building a business can be overwhelming and having seasoned veterans who have walked in your shoes can make the process less daunting.
• Stage Three: Proactive/Active- Wealthy Affiliates has amassed a wealth of information through additional training, member posts, and articles. As a new member, the thought of reading anything in addition to the starter training seemed like information overload. How do I know what I need to know? What additional training do I need? is that article relevant to me? I totally get it. I'm right there with you. First things first, complete the starter training. Next, ask questions and read the responses. If your not satisfied with the response, seek additional training on that topic. In addition, some responses include links to a more comprehensive, detailed answer. Your growth is totally up to you. Move through the training at your own pace. Don't try to keep up with anyone else.
• Stage Four: Grow- We each set goals at the start of this venture. Each person's goal is different. However, we all want the same thing: to grow a profitable business. In order to grow we need to carefully nurture our business. You have to work at it in order to see positive change. Participate in the chats, write posts, ask questions and continue to learn through the training platform. The sky is the limit! And when you become a novice,(and you will), be available to help someone else.
• Stage Five: Maintain- The world of Affiliate Marketing is rapidly changing. Nothing stays the same for too long. Once your business is off and running, it needs regular maintenance and attention. When things are changing, decide how that change might affect your business and then determine what moves if any, need to be made to keep your business relevant and competitive. Don't be afraid of change. Just be sure you've done your research. No one knows what's best for your business but you.

The challenges of starting a new business can seem menial when compared to raising a new born. While there are many differences, if nurtured carefully, the satisfaction of watching something grow and flourish is equally rewarding.

Using the five stages can help you put things into perspective. Give yourself some credit for getting this far. But don't stop here. Keep moving. You can do this!
