When We Are Neither Young Nor Old

Life is one phenomenon that is always in question. This comes about because of human behaviour.We wished we were old while we were still young.We even sometimes dressed to appear older than we were. We leave our parents house for a number of reasons. Some of which are:

1. We are lazy and therefore, refused to do our chores believing that when we are on our own we do nothing or do what we want in our own sweet time.

2.We will be handling our own money to buy what we want - not what parents want us to have.

3. Sex is high on our list. We cannot live with our spouse under our parents' roof and engage in sexual relations whenever we want.

All these looked fine at first, but we did not factor in the challenges of life. So in comes stress, unwanted pregnancies, financial problems and all the unpleasantries that life has to offer and for which we were unprepared. Before we know it age overtakes us and we are now grand- parents.

Yes, we wanted to be old when we were young, but now that we are old do we want it? Ha, ha. Now we want to be young again.

We compete with teenagers even our own children to look beautiful.We spend a lot of money on plastic surgery, cosmetics, at the doctor and the gym to reverse our looks - but not our age (60 is 60 no matter how pretty or handsome we look).

So the irony is that we spent our youthful days trying to look old, then we spend our golden years trying to be young again. We therefore, neither want to be young nor old.
