So, I'm having a bit of trouble finding a niche, all I have so far is Fly Fishing, which can be extremely broad. So in the training I created a bit of a dummy site so that I ca
I think fly fishing can definitey be a niche.
As for checking products, you can google:
"niche + affiliate + program"
or alternatively you can go to amazon.com and look for the products available within your chosen niche.
You don't have to subscribe yet to a program as you can do that MUCH later when your site actually starts to generate traffic.
Take your time building your site and take it from there.

How do I go about generating traffic though if it's specifically a website dedicated to promoting products if I have nothing yet to promote?

Although you don't have any affiliate program yet, you practically can already start writing the reviews or tell us the Top Best X products for Fly fishing.
When you start generating traffic, you can add the affiliate links.
Just follow the course material step by step and write content along with it and you will see how it is going to work out.
It is also the reason why the first two to three modules don't even really speak about adding the affiliate links. It only speaks about showing the possibilities and looking around for them.

In our training Kyle said when we are thinking of a niche, go with your passions. What are some areas that you are passionate about. Then you can write about those things forever.
That's exactly why I chose fly fishing! But of course I'm trying to get out of the mindset of being only a consumer. I'm understanding well how to build the website and so on, I'm just eager to see how things play out with actually finding a product to promote! Ironically enough that I can deal with fishing, I can be pretty impatient with things like this. Thanks for the input!
When I signed up for an Amazon Affiliate account, I had NO website. The person coaching me said just put in anything, so I made one up and was still accepted!
