So it's January 1st - Let's do things differently this year!

Happy New Year everyone. It's now officially 2026! And here are my thoughts at this turning of the year.

It's a little poem I wrote (no AI, just me), which I hope you like - a prayer for the unknown: unknown time, unknown people, unknown new world. But that shouldn't be something to fear when you know you can create your own destiny.

So let's create something wonderful, together.

A Prayer For The Unknown

As the wheel turns once more, it’s time to reflect

Not with anger or judgement; we must be circumspect

There are plenty of things to feel angry about

Like war, greed and famine, injustice and drought

We could all blame each other, spreading hatred and fear

But would things be different, at this time next year?

Isn’t it time we tried something new?

Like agreeing to differ; seeing ‘me’ within ‘you’

The bonds that unite us are more than we know

But these are the things that are never on show

Like compassion and love, trust and respect

The ‘influencers’ with the greatest effect

It starts very simply with the choices you make

To try something new, it’s a risk that you take

To give and show love to all that you meet

And to master your temper when you’re feeling the heat

Instead of reacting with fear and rebuff

Say to yourself that enough is enough!

Be that brave person who’s willing to change

And give of yourself, with no thought of exchange

For the love that you give ripples outward forever

Your energy changes, so never say ‘never’

Your act of compassion will begin to increase

And there will come a time when the world is at peace

So let’s all commit to taking more care

To radiate love with plenty to share

The dreams we all carry are tangible near

Let’s bring love, peace and hope to the world this New Year
