Can anyone tell me how to delete the page name which comes up at the top of my text page on theme Twenty Thirteen pls >http://gaeldrum.com/
Thanks Jovo, the page name comes up in the menu and also at the top of the page. When I begin to edit my page I have a large topic name which is the page name and I can't remove it.
When you edit yes you have a separate box for title. But do not try to remove this because this title is the most important part of SEO. This is where your keyword should be,
What I see is how it should be, having the title is the most important part of the post. Do not see the problem.

I have lost all of my website content when transferring my websites. It has been 24hrs and I have directed the nameservers to WA..
Could someone please help me, I am lost and confused????
I completed the transfer from SiteRubix over to my domain name, four days ago. There is a page when I put my web page up, it says the following:
Welcome to the new WA Hosting
Congratulations on setting up a new website! This is a placeholder page. It will reside here until you remove it (the file is httpdocs/index.html) or overwrite it with new content.
To upload your website content, please use your favorite FTP client and point it at computersatbest.com
You can even use your web browser by visiting ftp://computersatbest.com and entering the FTP login details supplied to you in the WA Hosting section of the Wealthy Affiliate site.
Your domain Control Panel can be accessed from the Wealthy Affiliate members area.
I have no idea what to do and I don't want to lose my content.
Could someone give me direction, please?

Thank you so much! Tech Support has helped and I finally got the job done. I'm new and just didn't understand what to do. Thanks heaps. Now I know, if someone else needs help.

I'm not sure about inside WA, but sometimes it takes up to 48 hours for files to transfer completely. Did you transfer files or just point DNS servers away from one hosting service to WA? Did you by chance do a back up of your site? You should always do a back up before transferring anything.
Thanks Weston for replying. I followed the instructions re pointing the DNS. I do have my content backed up on another file but it will make it easier if I don't have to rebuild websites. I will wait patiently in hope that the process is still taking place..
I'm sure everything is still there and is just in the transferring process, you shouldn't lose data just by re-pointing DNS. Give it some more time and if it still doesn't show, then contact your current hosting company and WA about the issue. What hosting company are you with?
Thanks Winston, I've just emailed support. I just hope I didn't push a wrong button and lost everything.. One thing though is I've learnt a lot here, so rebuilding a site will take far less time than before. :)
Yeah, I really hope you don't need to rebuild it from scratch. It sounds like you didn't do anything wrong so if anything is screwed up it's on them. By the way my name is Weston, not Winston :)

Hi Gaeld, to avoid confusion (or maybe add a little more :) - it might help you with further learning curve.
Host name it is a very broad term and it can mean many things. e.g. your computer has a host name.
Don't think i am picky here ok ? Just making it a little bit more murky ;)
What you were looking for is your hostING server name or simply name server, this term specifies WHAT this computer does.
(it is also host name, because this name ns2.mywahosting.com is hosting server's host name :) - but it is not your host name :D

If you have PC - you can check it by right-clicking on "my computer / host name"

I don't know how to add a picture or video to my side bar. Do I need to install a widget? If so which is best?

I watched the video and followed the instructions which was to put ''img src='' code before the url. and it wasn't working so then I followed DoubleA instructions and it's now working. I had to create a new page and put the pic in it then copy the code there.. Thanks guys your help is much appreciated!
This training should be able to help you out..... Create An Author Bio Teaser In Your Sidebar
you can make a new page, add the photo, goto the text editor, copy the html code for placing the image, paste the code into your sidebar as a text widget, and it should be there resized, and you can delete the page you made just to add the photo... thats a quick and easy way.. might not be the best but it works well!
Hey. Well you can use the text widget to the side bar and put a link of a picture on your website in the text widget, like where you type words. I think you'd be able to do the same thing with the video, but I've never tried that before. I always put videos in my pages, but that's just me. The videos might be pretty huge in the sidebar, unless there's a way you can change the dimensions in the code. Hope this helps!

Oh, you need to upload the pic from your desktop to your the media in WordPress. Then when you go to the picture and click on it, you can find the URL of the linked picture there. Copy this link and put it in the text widget box. Does this make sense? It should show up then.
