This is a short (hopefully) post of what I've very recently learned about my very first niche selection.

I joined WA about 2 months ago and was raring to go and blast the

I think it's really important to follow your interest first - money second. It's incredibly difficult to keep a site going that you don't have a real interest in and once you can't think of content to write you're on a downward spiral.

Glad you're going to develop what you're interested in and all the things you've already learned will be put to good use on your new site.

Going with what you know and love is a plus. As we go along we get to know what it is to be an affiliate marketer from the provider of stuff to buy relevant to our niche. Make a point to go back to review a section of Bootcamp while you keep developing your own niche. Create 'affiliate notes' to jot down ideas to develop an affiliate site. Just as you had that 'oh my paleo as my niche', the 'oh my an affiliate site' will happen too. ^_~

I know how you feel I did something similar. I started with a niche and then went back to bootcamp as I thought it would make more money in the short term. I kept going back to my niche though and the WA site is back on hold. I may well go back to it at a later date as I feel I am more qualified to write about it now, but it is the niche that holds my interest.

That's the way I feel about it too, Josh. Once I've achieved a measure of success with my niche, ie getting organic traffic, or even make some money from it, then I'll have more substantial and useful content to add on my WA website.

Eventually, I would love to have both sites running and generating traffic and income. But for now, I'd like to focus on the niche website, and learn more about that particular niche (paleo lifestyle).

Hi everyone,

I would like to start a discussion about the issue of time management. A lot of us here at WA have different schedules and responsibilities throughout the day

Apart from getting regular exercise everyday and eat more natural foods and avoid/reduce consumption of processed foods, I've realised that getting to that state where you can concentrate on your work is something that cannot be forced. Our mood and energy level are so tied up together and they are largely the product of how you structure your day.

When you organise your day wisely, you'll be able to get more things done as opposed to take it as it comes attitude as that way you'll be prone to succumb to distractions. A very simple trick that I've used over the last few weeks is to actually simply list things that I have to do tomorrow on a notepad program on my laptop. Usually there will be 3-4 things I have to do about my website and the rest are things like exercise routine and a few chores here and there. Because it's readily visible to me, I get these tasks done much quicker compared to if they're just a mental list in my mind.

So, I guess here's a quick list of what constitutes a healthy and productive mind:

1. Natural foods and plenty of it
2. Enough rest and sleep
3. Easy to follow exercise routine you can do daily
4. Intellectual stimulation from reading, conversation and learning in general
5. A simple visual tool to keep record of your daily tasks.

Feel free to add to this list. Also, I'm interested in how other members prepare their food, if some of you can post easy quick recipes for a healthy meal, that'd be great!

Like some have mentioned, eat well and take breaks.......I have gotten so caught up in what I was doing with my website, that hours zoomed by. I let this happen for a week or so.......and guess what? Exhaustion. Then frustration. So just make sure you work hard but take breaks/rest well too. :)

You know what, I did the same thing. I was caught up with the work on my website that I did not pay attention to my body. I'm mostly ok now, been eating more vegetables and fruits again, it helps in keeping hydrated. Also been taking 30-45 mins walk after work just to unwind and slowly getting back into an exercise routine. And today, I've finished my theme pages and I've got my first post up as well :)

Time management is essential for progress to be seen. Wrote an article in my profile what I use and other resources.
In maintaining energy level. We often forget we have to gas up, just like a car, and don't drive for hours without a break. Eat healthy protein bars, fruits, veggies throughout the day. And most important - lots of water!! ^_~1632/8/3

Absolutely. I guess a lot of people starting out in internet marketing do not realise the meaning of "being your own boss". Think about it, at work you don't actually have to structure your day, it's been structured for you. I'm actually taking the system they have at work and start implementing it at my work from home or anywhere (taking regular breaks, keep your focus and avoid distractions, and so on). Just because you don't have a boss does not mean you can slack off, or the opposite work without stopping!

I think you were on the right path with the fruits and veggies. I find when I stay away from junk food, my energy level is optimized. Also, make sure you're getting enough water and enough rest - 8 hrs/night is best for most people, but see what seems to work best for you. Since our bodies and the brain are almost entirely water, if you're even a little dehydrated your energy level will slip.

So I suggest going back to your fruits and veggies - starting today. Aim for at least 64 oz of plain water every day, and try to get to bed on time. Guaranteed you'll feel better.

Yes, I'll increase my fruit and veges intake this week. I've had problems sleeping in the last 2-3 weeks for some reason and this has added on to my fatigue. I'll catch an early one tonight and see how I feel tomorrow morning.

Sounds like a good plan. Early to bed, early to rise...you know the rest :-). Let me know how it went.

Hey Veganlife, I'm feeling largely better now. Been a bit smarter in managing my time and energy level as well as keeping my mind fresh. One thing I have learned is that not to work on my website or online projects while I'm not comfortable physically or mentally such as when I'm hungry, tired, irritated, etc. It's best to take care of those first, get myself relaxed and calm, then start working :)

Well I don't know if you have read the book Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About, but that is a really good book. It talks about the food company's and how they want people to be hooked on their products. But you were right by changing your foods to be more healthy and more energetic,

Me with my energy levels are pretty high, sometimes I am just worn out but we all get that way no matter what sometimes.

My work schedule for the time since I have started is working 11, 12, sometimes even 14 hours in a day. Usually it's 11 to 12 a day. 5 days a week. I have been able however to get 3 days off last week, I requested 4 days off this week, and I'm getting 3 days off next week after working 5 days though. Hours are from 10 to about 10, and I get home about 10:30. Depending what I want to do that night I'll come home and write and article or something. Sometimes I wont do anything for that night, but I do have my weekly goals, so I focus on getting those done for the week, not what I have to do each night.

However I do think my schedule will be changing here dramatically within like 2 days, so I don't know how it will be, but that is what I have been doing up till this point.

Thanks for sharing skyhorse! I'll check out the book you recommended. Yeah, the "normal" diet in our western world is actually pretty damaging to our long term health. Too many food products out there are heavily processed.
I also think that sleep plays a crucial factor for your energy level throughout the day. I had a nice deep sleep last night and today I felt much better and my fatigue's gone. I think with sleep, you need to stop thinking and let your body and mind relax and slip into sleep naturally (and you can't think about not thinking either lol). I'm currently listening to an audiobook my friend lent me called "Power of Now" by Ekhart Tolle. In there Ekhart tells us to be present in the Now constantly. I guess when it comes to falling asleep, you're in the Now if you stop thinking about your past and future scenarios thus allowing your mind actually relax.

That book is right up there on the same level as Think and grow Rich. Power of Now is awesome!!!
