Developing Websites. Plural
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I had the idea that I would be developing websites to generate income via affiliate marketing... but something crazy has occurred!
I am currently working in real estate and the owner had a very dated site that he had built himself. So, I took the initiative and rebuilt his site on siterubix (it took me about 5 hours). I then showed him what I could do, and walla! I was hired. Since showing him that first mockup, I have been paid on 20 hours of development and already accrued another 17 hours. I am actually working on two different sites and a third one coming that we discussed today.
What is really exciting, is the time I spend working on his sites, only deepens my skills and understanding of the wordpress platform and various plugins. I am using the same theme across all sites, this allows me to become more knowledgeable of the theme files and where I am able to manipulate the code when it is called for.
Anyways, I was excited and wanted to share. this would not have happened prior to joining WA, although I used to manage my own company website and I came to WA with a lot of experience, it had been about 3 years since I worked on a site and i felt that my days of doing real custom work were gone... well, I was wrong! I am picking up the languages I used to code in pretty quick again and I am familiarizing myself once again with various softwares. What I didn't have before was a knowledge base of worpress. I think that I thought I was too good for it! Now I understand that I am even better with it!
Thanks WA
Greg
