The Beauty & the Beast of the internet:
Towards the end of May 2020 in the deep end of lockdown as we succumbed to social distancing, all pubs, restaurants , parks remained closed , I woke up from my sleep in early hours as I thought it was just one of those nightmares.
Oh no it was real.
The only and easiest way to communicate with the outside world was via the internet and my companion in those early hours couldn’t have come in very handy under the circumstances.
Coincidentally an email (unsolicited) had landed in my inbox. Guess where from ....a work from business proposal from a famous provider based in California- USA.
In the morning I spoke to my wife about it and it all sounded good given the time of global lockdown that had seen massive job losses , many companies going under, empty city centres, motorways and rural roads.
Thanks to Google & YouTube . I run through work from home schemes from those 2 global search engines and alas...I never knew there were tonnes of information regarding that subject...especially having been a 9 -5 royal for over 30 years!
Reading on...endless YouTube videos of people claiming to make millions while working from home....some claiming to be more genuine than others , some pointing fingers to other schemes as Scams and so on. I can’t remember anytime in recent days I had spent so many hours with my eyes glued on my laptop while at home. My wife at some point asked me whether I was looking through dating sites as she wondered why my home time could be devoted to YouTube videos like our children.
With a new opportunity coming in at a time when I had been at home for almost 2 months away from the usual 9-5 lifestyle, I quietly signed up to a work from home scheme costing me just under $300. It was until another 3 weeks that my new found love was beginning to get on a shaky relationship.
The California provider was no longer getting in touch regularly and a number of questions I asked remained in answered!!
Thanks to Google...as I checked reviews about the provider and found many stories of negative ones of people who had found themselves in a similar way as myself. I decided to call it quits and mind you a loss of about £300 due to un refundable small print close I hadn’t seen during signup.
Moving on the beauty & beast of the internet keeps rolling on...my appetite for work from home had been born and was now looking for anything with that slogan...
That is when I read about Wealthy Affiliate..another scheme of working from home. After reading several reviews that sounded as if they were from real people...I signed up. It’s now coming to just over 3 weeks and the deeper I dived into the community pool the more promising I found WA. I quickly joined the Premium membership having seen the benefits especially to a newbie like me.
Here we are folks I thought I would throw this blog out there & who knows maybe some of you in our WA community has been through a similar experience since the global lockdown.
The beauty & the beast of the internet remains flourishing as ever and here we go again while we may count our losses the long term benefits couldn’t be ignored.
My old school”s logo had an inscription on it which read “Aluta Continua”
Have a lovely Sunday.

I'm glad you found your way onto WA.
I had a similar experience in my search for work during lockdown. I didn't get as far as signing up to another scheme for money, but only because I didn't have any to spare at the time.
Thank goodness for WA and their community. They restored my faith in humanity.
