Surprising video traffic

I discovered the value of video a few years agao. About two years ago, I created a pretty simple video on how to redirect a link to add to your resource box on ezinearticles.

I uploaded this video to youtube. A few weeks ago, I went to youtube because I'd forgotten what videos I put up, and I found that this video had over 8,000 views! I had no idea that might happen, if only I had some idea how to monetize youtube traffic.

Of course, I had no idea how much of that traffic made it over to my website but it just shows the value of creating videos. I don't think you can put direct links on your youtube posts, but it seems at the very least that it should be pretty easy to make some videos and create some references to your site.

(I'm sick, I haven't slept and I'm writing this at 6am so I hope it makes sense :-) )

My plan is to do some more experimenting over the next few days and to create a follow-up post outlining how it went.
