I did an experiment last week. I wrote a headline that attracted attention. I was only getting a few people reading my blog but when I stated that I had made a sale I suddenly saw quite an increase in my audience.
My headline was .....................
Yippee, I made a sale! Then came the responses. Congratulations , well done, you deserve it and so on.
Everybody is after the elusive dollar.
Everyone wants to be successful online and if someone else can do it they all want to read to find out how they did it.
I went on to explain in the blog post that I had not really made a sale but that was the headline I would like to post when I did.
The interesting thing was that very few people read my blog to see that I had not made a sale at all, they totally missed the point.
Headings Matter
What this proved to me was that your heading matters.
You must have a heading on all your posts that will get your readers attention. Unfortunately they did not read on or they would not have congratulated me for a sale I did not make, but it was worth it to see what works.
I want people to read more than the headline though so I need to keep putting fresh lures out. This is the hard part. Keeping peoples attention all the way to the end.

There is more to this blog than first meets the eye, read on and discover some secrets that will have readers wanting to read and share your post. Everybody wants something for nothing or for perhaps just sharing their email address. What can you offer your readers to get them to not just read your post but to share it too?
Give away something that works with your theme.
If your theme is making money then give some away. Do a face book promotion offering to give away a $100 Amazon voucher to each of 3 people chosen randomly who share your site. It may cost you $300 dollars but it will generate lost of contacts as they have to register to be in with a chance.
If Your niche is about blogging then give away a free e book to everyone who signs up

You make a great point Freisia. I was hesitant to participate in the comments and help section because of how much time it would take to review peoples' posts. I wanted to get my training out of the way to pay forward some real value. Your results of getting congratulated just because of the heading is very interesting. I wonder if others have been reading my posts or just commenting.
It kind of makes you wonder. I don't really want just pointless feedback. I would like some constructive criticism. I'm sure there will be some that actually take the time to read. What do you think?

From that 20% will in fact read your article in full so they are the ones you need to be concerned with. You don't want to lose them.
