Meta-AI's Smart Glasses!
(Title image by DALL-E 3)
Hi WA Friends!
As you probably know, Meta (Facebook) has introduced its AI platform, which is web browser-powered. Meta partnered with Ray-Ban to bring the world its version of smart sunglasses.
They are a cool mix of stylish eyewear and smart technology that lets you take photos, record videos, listen to music, and answer phone calls. Just what you've been waiting for, right?
How They Work
The sunglasses work by connecting to your smartphone using Bluetooth. They have discrete open-ear speakers, five microphones, and a pair of 12 MP cameras built into the frames. This lets you enjoy your favorite tunes or have a chat without needing earphones. To capture moments, just tap the side of the glasses to snap a photo or start recording a video.
The smart glasses operate by voice command and tapping the side of the frame.
They come with a charging case that gives you up to four hours of battery life.
Why You Need Them
They are great for taking quick photos and short videos while on the go. You can also use them for hands-free phone calls, which is handy when driving or busy with your hands.
Pros and Cons
Meta says the benefits are clear: "Convenience and style in one package." However, there are some downsides. The battery life might not last very long, and they can be expensive. The price can range from $299 to $379, depending on the model.
Video Improvements
The video length was up to 3 minutes from the Meta View app. However, Meta has released an upgraded version that supports live streaming for up to 30 minutes at a time! The smart glasses feature a capture LED that lets others know when you're capturing content or going live,
I would use them to record live music concerts! Lol π
Tell Me What You Think
Wearable technology keeps evolving, and there's virtually no limit to where it can lead us as we integrate it with AI! The next step would be implantable devices, which could well transform us into a population of cyborgs in the future!
Have you tried Meta-AI?
Would you be interested in smart glasses, especially as the price begins to drop? Tell me what you think in the comments, AND ...

I heard a Youtuber talking about these glasses a while back, Frank.
I need my glasses for everything throughout the day, so the battery life would be an issue for me.
Appreciate the post! πΈπ€
Isaiah π
Hi Isaiah
Currently, these glasses are recreational, but when the battery life issue is resolved they could be fitted with prescription lenses. π

The glasses seem almost unrealistic. They are as though you could be a spy. Doing things that you never could have imagine. May be I will own a pair on day. Interesting post FrankB
Hi Rick
Yeah, they're pretty cool, and I'm sure they will be used for a lot of amateur spy work. Lol π

They sound fun! Thanks for sharing. I bet the grandkids will be through with a pair, and I can try before buying!
Sami
Hi Sami
Yup, I think they will catch on quickly, especially when the price drops! π

This is awesome.....I want a pair. The only concern I would have is battery life. Off to amazon I go.
Hi Chuck
Yeah, I think they are very cool, and battery life will improve. However, it will add another level of people recording us when we least expect it! Lol π
Frank πΈ
That is true, but honestly nothing I am all that concerned with. I carry a gun so I am very self aware of all of my actions and don't do anything that people want to record...lol.
Funny story...my wife asked why I carry my gun in the house, so I said....AI Bots...she laughed, I laughed, the toaster laughed....so I shot the toaster. πππ€£
Hahaha, that's a hilarious story, Chuck! π
Yeah, I never do anything wrong or very exciting, so I can't imagine who would want to video me and put it on YouTube.

Pretty cool glasses! I would definitely give them a try!

Tim πΌ
Yup, guitar-playing cyborgs, Tim! Lol π€πΆ
Iβd have a pair if I didnβt did prescription glasses, but someday.
That could be DALL-E 3βs interpretation of a young John Mayer. Who knows?? π
Rock On! π€
