Happy Birthday Lita Ford!
Hi, WA Friends!
Today, let's celebrate the Birthday of Lita Ford!
That's Lita above, with her iconic B.C. Rich "Warlock" guitar! She became a B.C. Rich endorser and has her own "Lita" signature Warlock model.
Have you heard of the Rock band "The Runaways?" That's where Lita started her career back in the late '70s!
She started her own solo career under the guidance of Sharon Osbourne Management (the same Sharon as you're probably thinking. By the way, Sharon was the daughter of the manager for the band Black Sabbath, which is how she met Ozzy.
Lita's discography includes:
- Out for Blood (1983)
- Dancin' on the Edge (1984)
- Lita (1988)
- Stiletto (1990)
- Dangerous Curves (1991)
- Black (1995)
- Wicked Wonderland (2009)
- Living Like a Runaway (2012)
She also made an appearance with Ozzy Osbourne in 1989 for the duet single "Close My Eyes Forever" which was one of her biggest hits, Eddie Van Halen, and appeared in a number of movies.
Lita was in the 2009 video game, "Brutal Legend," remember that??
If you've never heard Lita sing and play guitar, check out her music!
You can also read about other rock icons in "The Best Female Rock Guitar Players โ Why They Totally Rule!" on my guitar site (see profile page).
Happy Birthday, Lita! ๐

I remember the Runaways! While they were never a major success in the United States โ I remember a few of their bigger hits, but I remember Joan Jett more โ she used to play the clubs on Long Island back in the day and me being a LIโer know Joan well.
Thank you helping me walk down memory lane โ not happy itโs making me feel VERY old!!!
-Mike
I saw Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 1987 with Ratt and Poison, and then in 2015 at the Kansas State Fair! She still rocked there too, Mike, and that was the last concert before I had my partial foot amputation 7 years ago!

Hey, Mike
Yes, the Runaways!
Joan Jett really rocks, too!
Don't be concerned about age; just have as much fun as you can! ๐

Ratt and Poison were great '80s bands. The Marshall high-gain JCM-800 amp started that whole sound! ๐
Yeah, the JCM-800 had a double pre-amp stack and now they have a reissue model.
Have you seen the movie "Spinal Tap," with the Marshall amps that go up to number "11?" The JCM-900 went to 11. ๐
Loved Lita Ford, and I remember that Joan Jett was also in the Runaways, but the other band members ' names escape me, Frank!
Happy Birthday, Lita!

Hey, Jeff!
Yeah, there were many members in the Runaways over the years. Joan Jett on rhythm guitar, Jackie Fox & Vicki (spelling) Blue on bass, Sandy West on drums, plus others.
