If you are using version 4 of ChatGPT, you now have the ability to create your own GPTs!
Also, the new (turbo) version of ChatGPT4 integrates DALL-E 3, the Bing Browser, and Data Analysis all in a single chat!
What Is It?
So, "My GPTs" give you access to a separate beta work environment.
It allows you to create your own custom GPTs to test in an adjacent playground and tweak it as you train it. You can then use it to create content inside the same environment!
Here's what the beta environment looks like (please ignore the Grammarly "Get Citation" button):
Important Limitations To Note
I've been playing around with creating my own GPTs. Since the GPT design environment is still in beta, there are some limitations. Here are two of the more important ones.
No "Custom Instruction" Integration.
It won't read your Custom Instructions from where you created them in the main chatGPT4 environment. However, you can add them to your GPT when you build it.
No "Save" Option For Your Generated Output
It won't save your prompt output to a pinned list, like in the regular ChatGPT environment. So, you have to copy and paste everything as you go into a Google Doc, the Block Editor, or whatever, to avoid losing your work.
If you close the browser tab, it's all gone! It also can freeze up if it sits dormant for a period of time (several hours during my encounter).

"Pre-Built" GPTs
The new ChatGPT4 also comes with several "pre-built" GPTs that you can use from the fully functional area (What, no pre-built guitar GPT?? Lol 😎).
It will be great when the GPTs we create can be used in the regular ChatGPT environment, like the ones OpenAI created.
