Design is not my cup of tea... if it's not yours either and you're just getting started here at WA, read this short post as it might save you some time.

We tend to get distracted with all these new shinny things... Design... Logos... Brand!

I mean, that's what design is suppose to do, attract us.

But hold on! do you really need all that?

When I started my first website, I spent a lot of time and a bit of money of a logo. I was told to buy one on Fiverr.

I bought a few designs on Fiverr, not just logos, even box designs for products. I had a couple of nice experiences, but I haven't gone back to Fiverr in a long time and have no intention of doing so...

It's supposed to be a simple experience, but most of the sellers, for the price you expect to buy a design there, will not satisfy you, and in my experience it just creates a lot unnecessary stress.

What to do instead?

I think you should try to stay away from all those shinny and pretty things when you're getting started with WA.

Create your website, choose a free theme - but don't lose time with that, pick one that displays your posts and that's it - and get yourself a free logo.

But what if you really know nothing about design? I'm still horrible at design...

Well, that's what I decided to share with this post, a free tool I found to generate logos... and remind you not to lose time with design. Your focus should be content!

Follow the training and write a lot...

Without further ado...

Here it is... it's called hatchful from shopify.

I will not link to it here, but it's pretty easy, google hatchful and you should find it.

Generate a quick logo and get back to writing.

Have fun!

Quick addition, another free tool suggested by merlynmac BrandCrowd. I checked it out and the style's a bit different, choose your favorite. But my advise stands, don't spend too much time on this!

Thanks for sharing really appreciate the input on this, was going to go to Fiverr for a logo and now definitely will not be doing that.

I'm glad I could help.

From my experience Fiverr is not worth it for a logo at all.

Get a free logo when you start and if you're not happy later pay for something nicer once you're generating an income.

But more importantly, it's not something that is worth focusing at first. Focusing on the right things is key to a quicker success, which are mainly kw research and creating content.

Cool. Thanks for the tool. I’ve been playing with BrandCrowd with some success. I’ll check out Hatchful now.

I didn't know that one. I'll add to the post if you don't mind.

I used Canva to design my logo. It's easy and free! All the best, Diane

I have used canva in the past, but my designs with canva are horrible, I'm truly a 0 trying to design stuff...

I've learned to create pins with canva which are acceptable, but would never use a logo made by myself. ;)

Thanks Diane!
