Frustrating website issues - no fix in sight yet
Hi everyone,
A month ago Google Search Console's Core Web Vitals flagged 68 of my posts as "needing improvement" and I have been struggling since to fix it.
Some of my errors are:
- render blocking resources
- server response time
- unused JavaScript and CSS
I have tried some plugins and they dont help much and at one point I deleted all my drafts.
The problem is even if your page speed is 90+ and green the problem will still not be fixed.
The last thing I have not tried is to change my ColorMag theme.
My traffic has gone down for the last 6 weeks and I have not written any new content lately because I only focussed on the problem.
I am now mentally exhausted and it has affected other areas of my life!
I renewed my 1 year premium membership a week ago so this is giving me a lot of frustration.
I am not giving up but this is challenging time for me.
Site support suggested I contact the theme developers but I doubt they will do much for a free user.
The least Site Support can do is to host my site on a faster server here in WA - at least one part of the problem is eliminated.
Has anyone experience this lately?

From our viewpoint, the big challenge these days is how WordPress themes are being written. Sometimes we may choose themes that are not well optimized.
Jay, the Live Webinar guy, uses GeneratePress whe showing how to build a website. Last year I looked for the fastest Wordpress themes on the internet and GeneratePress and Astra (not Astral) we listed. Since that time I have used Astra Free theme. We seem to have less problems with that theme.
Are your websites set up in SitePlus to use SiteSpeed Extreme. that helps speed some.
From our experience, there may be other reasons your traffic is going down. If you do not add new blogs it may go down.
Not everyone may agree with me, but here's what I would do, 1) Backup up my website. 2) Change my theme to GeneratePress or Astra (not Astral). and 3) keep writing blogs.

Did you happen to fix the problem? I'm finding myself in the same boat.
I managed to fix the Mobile version, but not the Desktop - it still "Needs Improvements ".
I am still searching for solutions online.
if you don't mind me asking, how did you go about it with the mobile version?
